This Album seems to have had a lot of negative reviews and I really can't see why. Yes, it is a bit of a change of style from some of their previous works but it really is a great album, up there with their best. There is less piano based songs on this album, of all their previous ablums it is probably most similar to their debut, Parachutes.

The opener "life in technicolour" is an instumental which, in my opinion is not a very good way to open the album. it lasts 2:30 and is not particularly good.

"Cemetries of London" is a really good song. Great Vocals and great Lyrics, it is one of the stand out tracks

"Lost!" I really like this song too, this is more similar to the material on X & Y. Very Good. ... Read More:

I have to say I never thought Dennis could do a record like this one... yes I know I'm an idiot. But seriously, I am overblown by the feeling of these songs (Farewell my Friend, Time, End of Show), every song has the right element of surrounding sounds but never disturbing the greatness of the melodies and the amazing piano tracks.
Unbelievably he included funky songs (pacific ocean blue) in this album and they all fit together like a miracle or whatever you want to call it.
He blends the classic beach boys sound on a subtle way, with the Beatles creating an atmosphere making it very personal to listen to.

The tracks have aged marvelously, man I'm so psyched about this album! How stupid I was not to have it years ago!! ... Read More:

In my earlier review of the first Raconteurs album, I said that I couldn't pick an outstanding track because they were all equally good. That effort was a solid and concise album - 10 short songs, plenty of ideas, and essentially it was veering towards pop rock. It sounded very different to The Raconteurs that I first heard at Leeds Festival in 2006. That band was awesome - big sound, tight performance, audacious musicianship... and I realise now that they must have been playing a lot of songs from this album, though it was clearly far from being released.

Consolers of the Lonely keeps a lot of the pop sensibilities that the earlier effort possessed (vocal harmonies, singalong choruses), but it is very much more rooted in traditional American ... Read More:

There is no doubting that this girl has a very unique and likeable voice. But the material on this album does not do this justice, with much of it being quite dull, drab and samey. Hopefully with the next album, she'll get a chance to really shine.

Alison Goldfrapp is not one for standing still. Her turn-of-the-century debut, Felt Mountain, was a masterpiece of downtempo yearning, 2003's Black Cherry a synthpop-disco extravaganza, and 2005's Supernature a mix of electronica and stick-in-your-head indie. Seventh Tree, her musical vehicle's fourth studio outing, shows more clearly than ever her intention for reinvention.

A stripped down, chary mien, Seventh Tree is a rare journey through the mind of the woman known for refusing to reveal even her age.

It kicks off, or rather eases in, with Clowns, a gentle, strummy treat, complete with wispy Vashti Bunyan-esque vocals. Immediately there is a feel that we're not in for the same disco and glam pop beats of the past.

What were Radiohead to do? They can't please all the people all the time, can they?

So, were they too keep the Bendsphiles moaning about "pretentious, tuneless noises, blah blah blah" or turn their backs on Kid-A-philes "far-out experimental techno wizadry"?

Unbelievably, Radiohead seem, at least to this ear, to have kept both camps happy. Maybe I'm biased, short of Pablo Honey, I consider all the albums to be quite magnificent in their own ways, and this is no different.

Once the techno-ish intro of 15 Step has finished (where, I believe, many of the post-OK Computer refuseniks stopped listening to write a 1-star review), In Raibows delivers the accessibility of earlier albums without losing the soundscapes of the later ones. ... Read More:

First off this is truly a superb gig. The track listing is faultless and the performances, though beautifully flawed at times, are blistering. It is a far superior document of the Ziggy period Bowie to the 73' retirement gig at the Hammersmith Odeon.

I already own the 94' official release of this concert on the mainman `golden years' label. I bought this new EMI edition because I had read somewhere that Bowie had remastered the recording himself. He hasn't! Listening to it I cannot really detect any significant differences in sonic quality from the 94' release.

What is shockingly obvious however is the absence of big chunks and small snippets of Bowie's playingly camp dialogue with his audience throughout. Where's his "painter from New York" impression ... Read More:

I loved this album the first time I heard it. It has the recognisable tracks including Apologise and Stop and Stare as well as a whole load more of great tunes. None of which you will want to skip! My personal favourite is track 10 - All we are. Fans of the Fray will love this band.
