When I first saw the film in 1981, I rushed out to by the LP soundtrack. Over the years it has lost none of its sheer listening enjoyment. Naturally the cd is an improvement in sound quality over the LP.

This soundtrack really captures the movie's hugely enjoyable OTT ebullience. All the tracks in here can be listened to on multiple repeat plays. Cheap Trick's 'Reach Out' and 'I Must be dreamin' are both good. 'Radar Rider' is the stronger of the two Riggs tracks on the album. Stevie Nick's 'Blue Lamp' grows on you each time you play it, as does the Nazareth track 'Crazy (A suitable Case For Treatment). Chill out to Don Fagen's 'True Companion' and Don Felder's 'All Of You'.
What is the best track on here - two contenders ... Read More:

As an adult it's a change to listen to something that's slightly different from your normal kids music but as a reggae fan its's utter tosh. There are far far better tracks out there. Save your money & get your kids to listen to some proper music.I can't believe that some of the biggest names in reggae stooped so low

Ah, memories of the Harp Bar, Terry's reggae disco and meeting Jake Burns for the first time in the Crown. The punk music of Norn Iron was by far some of the best, the times it grew up in meant that the bands put more effort and themselves into the music (how else could Alternative Ulster have contained so much genuine anger). But it never got the large scale release it deserved (except SLF and the 'tones of course). The A&R guys must have been scared.

Now, the wider world has the chance to finally hear what we knew and loved in those good old, bad old times - this is by far and away the best of the plethora of Punk single compilations flying about these days. You never heard of some of the other GB bands or singles at the time ... Read More:

Music : The Best Album in the World...Ever Vol.1
Gosh, I remember this. It was a very timeous release in 1995, compiling a bunch of mostly indie guitar tunes right at the very height of britpop, and it is a pretty good britpop sampler. Surprisingly however it does not have Pulp's "Common People" or anything by Sleeper.

There are britpop fellow travellers such as the Prodigy, Fluke and the Chemical Brothers, all of whom appeared on the soundtrack to the Playstation hit "Wipeout" and its sequel, and who were not indie guitar bands at all. There is ... Read More:
