Michael Jackson helped out alot on this album by designing a new CD lacquoring process. This made it possible for him to give his free copies of this album back to Madonna without her seeming to notice. Of course Madonna being a bit wise and very old didn't really know what CDs are and now always looks confused. The 'immaculation collection' actually refers to the immaculate homogenised grey appearance of collected belly button fluff despite it originating from garments of differing colouration.

Wow, not a single reviewer rates it less than five stars. As good as they may be, later albums sound contrived in comparison. It's just fresher more 'alive' than his other stuff. If you don't already have this, don't hesitate.

I'm not going to knock Michael Jackson for all the extra curricular stuff that seems now to tower over any of his musical achievements,I'm also going to point out that he's since made far inferior albums-my beef with Jacko is that this album was the soundtrack to hundreds of car journeys following my brother getting it as a 13th birthday present back in 1988. Even back then, with my limited powers of criticism I hated it, now I've had years to dwell on the reasons why. To put it simply-songs-or lack of- are the problem. The title track sounds like someone's little brat in the throes of a paddy pants-down, 'The Way You Make Me Feel', the album's most melodic offering is ruined by the sound of someone dropping a toolbox down a flight of stairs ... If you want the collection of Kylie's hit singles, this is the CD for you. If you're looking for every single one of Kylie's releases then some are definitely missing from here, not that it matters to me anyway, this is a fact of Greatest Hit compilations. "Ultimate Kylie" is a lovely shiny collection of Kylie's songs that will be forever loved by her fans and pop music lovers. Only bad tracks in my opinion are "Tears On My Pillow", "Give Me Just A Little More Time" (Disc One) and "Chocolate" on Disc Two. If you haven't heard and loved "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" you must be nuts.

In the same way that one becomes colder the further away from the sun travel, the quality of MJs CDs/LPs diminished the further away he departed from his best CD Off the Wall. As this is the CD after the great 1979 release, he still has something in his favor. By & large he was still blessed to be working with Quincy Jones & the under valued Rod Templeton. At this time he wasn't chasing the title of King of Pop, or following the latest trends. He was also using live instruments ( the lack of which, I feel, diluted his future CDs) Add to this base, the writing skills of Toto, the guitar skills of Eddie Van Halen, the vocal 'rap' of Vincent Price, and you have all the ingredients of a major, major hit. This is truly madonna's best album to date with classics like sorry hung up i love new york like it or not jump get together and all of the album is fantastic! 10/10 must buy!

At the time of recording this album Michael Jackson was a very angry man, the Chandler case had been going on and other people in authority were trying their best to ruin him. This was the biggest selling black artist of all time and he was living in Neverland Ranch in a purely white community, people were jealous and wanted his musical career finished. This album was Michael's answer to them. The songs Scream, They don't care about us, Stranger in Moscow, This time around, D.S, Money, Childhood, Tabloid Junkie and 2bad all relate to Michael's life at that time, which is why i've given this album 5 stars, this isn't his best album by a long shot but it is still a fantastic and very personal album and the people who give this a low score should sit back with headphones on ... GHV2 sums up Madonna's singles from 1992 to 2001 from Erotica, Bedtime Stories the Evita soundtrack, Ray of Light, Beautiful Stranger and Music. What I like about the album is it's artwork and the jumbled track listing. What I didn't like about the album is the editing of quite a lot of tracks. However, not all the singles are here and there's no new music either but if you're a Madonna fan who's enjoyed the hits from the 1990s, then this is a good start before you venture further with the albums.

As a michael fan i own all of his records and then some. however i wouldn't suggest to really buy this album and i haven't either. It's just the first cd of his huge history album. My advice would be to buy that instead, because you not only get all of the songs on this album but it comes with an album of (what was) new material, and in my opinion is a lot better value. However if the only songs of michaels are the ones on this album that you like then buy this. but value for money history is better

How amazing! How out there! How fab is the ever reinventive Mrs Ritchie? Well, actually no, she is none of these things!! She of the Minnie Mouse vocal chords and limited musical talent (if she has any at all, lets face it!) has discovered that 20 years after the fact the general public have forgotten late 1970s Italian disco producer Girogio Moroder and so the exploitative witch beautiffully rips him and we the masses right off - AGAIN! The Empress' new clothes horse is also all Eastern Mystic here, how quaint? Quite gross really! 'cos you know she don't mean it! Someone put this manipulative old cow to sleep, please!
