Much like Her 2004 debut album, 'The 18th Day', Shine proves to be an outstanding contribution to the world of UK hip-hop. Featuring collaborations from Kanye West, Will.i.am, Cee-Lo & John Legend, the album had all the ingredients to be a major success. A very summer feeling on the record, and a 2008 must buy!!

Like i said in my title this album is so much better than confessions i thought apart from the singles he released from confessions there were only about 3 or 4 tracks i liked that were not singles. Anyway let's get into this album, it defo shows off a more grown up usher let not forget he is nearly 30
Foever young-It took me a while to get into this song but now i like it
Love in this club-Great club banger but part 2 is better

Every band (well nearly every band) has something unique that sets them apart from all the others like some kind of musical DNA - and that is vocals. Guitars, drums, bass, keyboards, etc; most bands have them and what they don't have can be replicated in some way. But vocalists, each one is unique and none more so than Disturbed. David Draiman's voice is so unique, constant and overpowering on Indestructible that its all I can hear. Each bloated song blurs into the next with its formula 'staccato verse/legato chorus'; the vocals mixed so high up that it totally overshadows whatever melody or hook may be buried underneath. You can only take so much for so long and sadly I have stopped digging to find it, having sadly thrown topsoil on Ten Thousand Fists and ... Read More:

This album seems to follow a similar theme to pharrell's recent solo album. It begins with a series of up beat tracks with more current hip hop influence. From track 6 onwards is a return to the old classics of the first two N.E.R.D. albums. I personally prefer the second half of the album where the originality of the N.E.R.D. sound lies but refreshed and current, 'sooner or later' and 'love bomb' will have your hands swinging in the air and 'killjoy' is a funkadelic headbanger. The first few tracks are listenable and i'm sure will grow in time, there are even a few jungle rhythms on 'spaz'. This album is equally as good as the first two and fans will not be disappointed.

i'll be quick in what i have to say: this album is diverse. It has everything. some soulful tracks, some poppy-little-bit-commercial tracks and some pure street bass-heavy hip-hop.

best track on the album for me: A Milli (this is the heaviest track i've heard in a long time)

Hip-Hop is not dead.

There's a bit of a Bristol revival at the moment what with Massive Attack curating this year's Meltdown festival and new albums from Portishead and Tricky's first muse Martina Topley-Bird. Adrian Thaws to give him his proper name, a leading light of the nineties 'trip-hop' scene, has struggled to reach the heights of his début Maxinquaye with subsequent releases, and whilst he doesn't quite manage it with his latest either it is certainly his strongest material since then. He's enlisted plenty of support along the way and the album has an eclectic mix of sounds but most gratifying to hear, from one who potentially could have disappeared into an apathetic haze of spliff smoke, is some real creative energy being thrown at things.

Nowhere is this energy more prevalent ... Read More:

This is not even close to being a 4 or 5 star album. Bands clearly have to evolve and usually when this is done correctly for every fan they lose they will gain 5 more, however Linkin Park have unfortunately evolved into overalll nothingness, the distinct lack of heaviness makes this record a bit of a chore to listen to. There are moments of promise dotted around the album but on the whole very little actually grabs you and forces you to keep playing it over and over.

The only really promising songs are the main single What Ive Done and Given Up, but once again despite the attempts to evolve it is very similar to the first track of Meteora though i must admit the simple but catchy guitar riff is a winner. On the subject of the guitars though it does sounds very synthetic ... Read More:
