This record is rubbish.I was more dissapointed with this record then i was with mogwais last album mr beast(another over hyped album by a once great band). After seeing all the five star reviews in the press i thought this record was going to be an absolute classic.Its not.The music is just cold and brittle.My advice is buy Beth gibbons solo record "out of season" instead .A thousand times better then this pap.

A rare combination of sweet soulful sounds with a modern twist, Glad to hear a 60's influence still carrying on in the next millenium... a classic...buy it :)

I must admit I did not see this coming. I thought it was going to be seriously bad given that: 1) it's a 'side' project; 2) it would be a monkeys-type of sound, but without the monkeys; 3) music collaborations always turn to be rubbish. Then I read in a review "epic tunes" and I thought "OMG they are becoming like EMBRACE". Very confusing. One way or another I had serious doubts of buying it. But then I decided to listen the full album through those 30 secs "pre-views" and I could notice the album was indeed different. So I gave it a try and I must say that I'm very positively surprised. O.k I agree this is one of those albums you have to listen to more than once but its brilliant. Its Disco with a mix of r 'n' B. I think it has a great combination of songs, and some may sound similar they still have there individual place. 4 minutes is a great debut single for Hard candy! other tracks I luv include Candy shop, heart beat but especially Devil Wouldn't recognise you. Slower tempo but exciting lyrically exuberant and a masterpiece I pray this gets released as it would be great in a club! INcreadibe is a bit weak but completly disagree with remarks to Spanish Lessons. Its really shows a different side to madge. Ultimatly if you love madonna Buy it!! Just bought this and found the superb song from the Magners cider add on the end . . been wondering where I could find this!! Cracking value for a couple of quid.

As a long time fan of both Alison Krauss and Led Zeppelin, I was delighted to receive this album as a present. However, despite the obvious musicianship of both singers and their fine accompanists, Robert and Alison sound like two soloists rather than a duet to me, turning what might have been quite interesting material into something rather boring.

Am currently playing this to death! Love, love, love it, maybe even as much as Supernature. Our favourite song is Clowns and my husband keeps playing it over and over again!! It's a great album to chill out in the sunshine to. It lifts the spirit and makes you feel all floaty like :-)

The album Konk is quite similar to the first album 'Inside In/Inside Out' but lacks the catalogue of summer singles to match its predecessor. The album starts off well with the brilliantly catchy 'See The Sun.' It is followed by first single 'Always Where I Need To Be' which is a great first single, proving the band can still write some quick, catchy singles. Following song 'Mr Maker' is good but not great, it is a summery song but never quite lives up to anything on the first album in my opinion. Next up is the rawer sounding 'Do You Wanna' which catches the Kooks in great form. It has a great guitar riff and is perhaps a future single. 'Gap' follows which is a poor song by their standards, it is quite bluesy but never quite gets going and drags on. The song 'Love It All' starts well but ... Read More:

Working in a HMV I have a good incite to the music industry and its new and up coming talent, but recently there has been a halt and the amounts of drool albums each week full of talent less artists that has made it in to the u k chart is astounding. I found this album to be relief from the same old Indie rock or pop trance in the chart. She brings a much-needed new taste back with some slow but also catchy jazzy numbers. Top girl!!!!

I have listened to this album over and over many a time and it has not lost my interest at all, i love every single song. Each song is its own, not the same at all. If you liked the singles then this album is for you, there is only better to come. Buy this now!
