Thsi is actually a good live album. It may be a bit too easy listening for fans of Eric Clapton the guitar hero (especially considering the inclusion of Charles Chaplin's "Smile"), but the sound is excellent, and the musicianship is, too.

The album is a pretty accurate representation of Eric Clapton in the 70s, starting of with Danny Flowers' country-flavouered southern boogie "Tulsa Time", followed by an excellent rendition of Bob Dylan's "Knockin' On Heaven's Door".

There's not too much genuine blues here...only "Rambling On My Mind" would qualify as a genuine blues, whereas "Blues Power" is really a rock song, and Clapton's own "Presence Of The Lord", as well as Steve Winwood's classic "Can't Find My Way Home", are none ... Read More:

This is a wonderful album. It marked Clapton's sobriety following his heroin usage, and has a theme of redemption and rebirth running through it. Also, there's a strong taste of someone who has turned himself inside and out.

In places, this is passionate, elsewhere playful, and in many places you can hear a man asking himself what he has left. Fantastic stuff, strongly recommended.

This CD collects the first and third albums released by Manfred Mann in the United States on the Ascot level (the second, "The Five Faces of Manfred Mann," has the same title as their first U.K. album, but completely different tracks). Despite the fact that they road the wave of the British Invasion to the top of the pop charts in 1964 with their cover of "Do Wah Diddy Diddy," which was originally performed by a girl group, the Exciters. However, if you listen to their albums you discover Manfred Mann is not a pop group, there are a R&B group that happened to make pop hits. Actually, they also ventured into original jazz compositions (e.g., "What Are You Gonna Do?") on these albums as well, and even covers of Bob Dylan (e.g., "With God on Our Side"). ... Read More:

Like most compliations from an artist who has lasted more than 5 minutes this is a mixed bag, but I wouldn't describe it as a total loss. I tend to lose interest once the initial salvo of Fleetwood Mac tracks are over, but some of those are worth the price of admission on their own. It may be one you don't listen to a lot, but when you do tracks like Sandy Mary and Jumping at Shadows provide all the necessary chills that only THE REAL THING can give. A tragically wasted artist - file under what might have been.

the man was an alien, either that or the rest of us are such pathetic examples of human beings that no-one has been able to reach his heights since. and to think some people rate Bono.

Highly recommended to Psychedelia fans, this 12 track, 27 min psychedelic soundtrack is nearly all instrumental with six tracks that are fragments. Opens with an Ogden's Nut Gone Flake-esque instrumental and closes in delightful contrast with the 1920's New Orleans speakeasy style Senior Citizen. The EG is very weak except scitzophrenically strong on the track 11 blues Fine Jung Thing. LP works unexpectedly well. Side (1) is excell and side (2) slumps but closes with two excellent tracks. Instrumental music refreshes the parts other rock music can't reach and is very enjoyable when used as a background to other fun activities. This LP on CD, opens and closes with its two best tracks - as all records should. An unexpected triumph and very cheap!
