Music : Knebworth: The Album
Not a bad collection of establishment rock acts, although compared to the actual set lists that were played, this album has pick a rather lackluster choice of tracks

The real reason why this album is worth having in my view is that it features what I regard as the best ever live performance of "Comfortably Numb" that Pink Floyd has ever done.

Generally the first disc is pretty awful, but the second, as well as the Floyd tracks, has a fairly good selection of tracks from Paul Macartney, Eric Clapton, and Elton John, although as said before, having seen the concert on video, there were better tracks than these that were performed.

So, to sum up, worth it for the Floyd tracks, otherwise not really worth it

I waited ages to get this c.d.--- and the track i really wanted isn't on it -- ( Rise above it) it's on other similarly packaged versions but not on mine ... there are also tracks on it that i don't even remember from the film and i've seent that film dozens of times .. and sorry Worl-a-Girl -- the actors version of The Jamaican Bobsled chant is much better than yours ...the instrumentals are good though but all in all - i found it disappointing and wished i'd got the 12 track version of this cd ....

Music : This Is Mod Vol.3: Diamond Collection
This takes me back, I saw all these bands live in the mid 80s. The recordings here are the singles from the Diamond label; some great songs, but not brilliantly recorded.
The Rage were probably the best live band of the time with ex members of Chords, Purple Hearts & L.T.S.
The B Team were a top band from North London, whose vocals/lyrics were my faves (I had a great live cassette of theirs - any chance of cd?).
The Moment were another great band whose lyrics I loved. These three should have made it in my opinion but this cd only hints at their true worth.
For those with memories of the mid 80s scene this along with Countdown, Makin' Time and Moment cds are all you need, but can't we have more from The Rage & ... Read More:

Without once touching even the Bubbling Under section of the charts this Indie label put out over 100 titles mostly one offs from the Flaming Groovies to the Brian Jonestown Massacre. Both these bands ended up cutting albums for other labels as did the Spacemen 3,Jon & the Nightriders and a few other cult names like Paul Collins' Beat-who famously caused the British band the Beat to become known as the English Beat and the Romantics who actually had a hit single when they signed to a major.
So a casual glance at this double CD is not about to sound familiar to anyone into chart music
Theres good stuff here like the Poppees version of a little known Lennon/McCartney song off the Decca Tapes-and eventually a hit in the U K for Cilla ... Read More:
