Solid production, some funky beats and some good modern jazz performances. The extra touch of Hip-hop attitude gives this record the edge that maybe missing in their other records. Some of the rapping may sound a little dated now, but this is the most complete album by Us3. If you're into old school Gang Starr, and the Jazzmatazz records you'll dig this.

100 Degrees and Rising is probably my 2nd favourite CD of all time (after Brand New Heavies' BrotherSister).

This is the Remix CD of that album, and it is a great addition to any Incognito album, or for anyone who wants to get into Incognito.

100 Degrees and Rising is probably their most accessible album, there's a few hits on there, and they're all here too in remix form.

This CD also gives home to the Japanese-only track from 100 Degrees.. Jump To My Love, a very commercial, and catchy Incognito track.

Also present here is Incognito's biggest hit Always There (David Morale Mix), which is a nice addition for anyone who doesn't have it on another CD.

To sum up, if you like Incognito (or ... Read More:

This record is simply great fun. Whether the delightfully cheesy,"Something Special," the groovily snappy,"Trashbox," or the sophisticated,"Heartfixer," this Nu-Jazz combo have more than a few tricks up their sleeve.
This was given to me by an ex-girlfriend and to my surprise I´m still listening to it a good five years later.
It´s extremely versatile, some of the tracks make me bop around the bedroom, other ones are more suitable for a sophisticated dinner party.
I like the arrangements. This band are clearly interested experimenting with electronic affects. The trombonist,(I can´t spell his name,) adds much of the jazzy element and steal. The standout performer is Pat Appleton with her sumptuous vocals.

This is a great album and a very good De Phazz album. I was hugely impressed with it after being put off buying it for so long by less than favourable reports.

De Phazz gone POP? I don't think so . . . De Phass highly polished and taking themselves a bit more seriously . . . certainly.

It's not as playfull/quirky as 'Godsdog' or 'Death by Chocolate' but the trade mark sound, vocals etc. are there, working seamlessly.

If one did not have the previous albums to compare to, I don't believe there is anything here to fault.

SO . . .

5/5 as a stand alone album
4/5 as an anticipated De Pahzz follow up to Godsdog and Death by Chocolate.

Buy and enjoy this impressive album.

Music : Late for the Future
Galactic are one of the up-and-coming new stars of New Orleans, voted funkiest city in the world every week for the last 30 years (probably). If you like the Meters, Dr John, the Nevilles, Allen Toussaint et al, you are going to love the new spin that Galactic have given to the Fonk. All you want from a real band, songs, jams, horns and real rhythm section playing, make this into a funky, modern gumbo. I will stop before I delve further into Cajun cliche. Buy it. Soon.

I'm a massive fan of this sort of sound and Greyboy leads the way when it comes to soulful funk. His beats and mixes are bliss, however, the biggest issue I have with this album is the recording quality. The album comes with a warning 'due to live recording there may be some sound issues'. I'm not sure where the problem lies though it sounds as though the recording is not direct from the decks. Instead it comes across as though someone has held a mic next to a speaker! Would recommend if your open minded enough to block out the annoying clicking noises in the background. Can definetly recommend the artist.
