I just had to write this review as I couldn't allow this album to have such a luke-warm presence on Amazon!!

Some fantastic songs - you'll start checking to see where you've heard them before but they are so memorable they ingrain themselves on your mind very quicly!!

And the production, arrangements and playing are superb - simply top quality.

Not only do we have the excellent core of all the best Incognito - their fantastic rhythm section Julian Crampton is on top form particularly on bass - but you alss have some of the best Jazz musicians in the UK - like Ed Jones on Saxes and Gerard Presencer on Trumpet/Flugel.

But the songs and the depth of vocal talent really stand out as always with Incognito ... Read More:

Music : Hard Normal Daddy
A friend of mine once referred to the opening track of this album as sounding like "Japanese game show music", and, despite a few months of protesting, I think I finally see what he means. Similar to a poorly constructed margherita pizza, you need to scrape off the excess cheese on Hard Normal Daddy to get to the truly crispy and delicious stuff. "Fat Controller" is so, so heavy though; I reckon I'll have that track played at my funeral.

Oh, and as a disclaimer, I'm a big fan of Go Plastic, which I believe to be Tom's peak.

Cheers.

Just in case anyone else has been unsure - this edition is NOT an SACD (Super Audio CD) edition, contrary to the review posted by another customer below. It is just the regular CD.

A quality very under-exposed album. If you like Cinematic Orchestra, Domu or any Ninja Tune stuff this is essential listening.

Mind Expansions is the killer track for me, an awesome broken beat journey with analogue bassline and ultra-dreamy vocals - one of the very best dance tracks of the 21st century so far.

Deep In Your Mind and Substream also stand out, but a slight tendency of similarity of composition throughout many of the tracks stop this from being worthy of 5 stars in my eyes.

The latest offering from the boys at internal bass is clearly designed to get people up and dancing wherever they are, whatever they are doing!

All tracks display the hallmarks of DTTB's unique style, groovy sax combined with smooth piano and of course, the usual attention-grabbing bass-line. Aptly named tracks such as 'Soul Brother Number 1' and 'Bridgeport Boogie' grab the listener's senses inducing a bout of frenzied foot-tapping. Play this CD in your car and i promise you will find yourself grooving at the wheel raising smiles from fellow motorists and passers-by at the traffic lights!

If you enjoyed DTTB's previous album's, 'Spread the Word' will not disappoint but serve only to increase ones admiration and appreciation of the band. 'Sread ... Read More:

This is a great album for a summer day, very funky and easy to listen to. The tracks that include vocals are mediocre but the rest of the album is top notch.

Watch out for the funky cover of Mission Impossible!

It's all very Austin Powers...

I'm no jazz authority at all, nor was I there on the night, but really, if you enjoy jazz and extemporization, and this doesn't float your boat, then check for a pulse! Soulful, playful, panoramic...just a delight. Heidi Vogel's vocals are breathtaking, the whole thing is simply suffused with sheer musical ability, depth and expression.

If you like Beverley's music but don't actually own any of it, like me, then buy this cd. It's got almost all of her best hits on it and it's brilliant. I'm really pleased with this cd. I'd recommend it.
