SONGS FROM A ROOM features many great songs such as Bird on the Wire, A Bunch of Lonesome Heroes, The Partisan and many others. In fact there is not one song on this great CD which I don't enjoy hearing over and over again. LEONARD COHEN is without a doubt the greatest artist of all times.

This is by-far my favourite stereophonics album: Superman: This is my all time favourite, it kick starts the album with a really catchy tune, the words though such as "Superman on an aeroplane sitting next to louis lane" is not anything i can relate to lol, but i just love Kelly's vocals it shows the strength his voice can go. Doorman: Now this song i wasnt struck on when i first got the album, i thought it was a little too heavy with the rock n roll, but after playing the album over and over it has grown on me - i love the chorus where the guitar breaks down and Kelly's voice takes over, this song has got attitude! A great album gathering all the big hits. Although some classic Commodores tracks are missing such as 'I Feel Sanctified'. There is another Compilation with all of their funky tracks although these are only the short versions. There should be a companion CD of long lost 12" and extended remixes. Surely 'Nightshift' was released after Lionel Richie had left the Commodores, and so it has no place on one of his albums? GVB

If you were born in the late 1940's to early 1950's then you will be more than familiar with Dusty Springfield. She was on TV more than most, (and we only had 3 channels), and out of the 21 tracks on here virtually every one of them was a single. It's one of those great CD's where, even if you have a lousy voice, you put it on and find yourself singing along. Dusty may have been more for Mum's and Dad's at the time, but growing up when her hits were around, I find I enjoy this album more now than ever before. Nostalgia. That's what it is. And Dusty's unique voice is better than any around today!

I'm not particularly a Stones fan, but this is a suberb collection...... just about the whole album is quality, a must for any music lover.

It pains me to say it, but after much time spent genuinely trying to like this album and find some quality in it I have to say its dissapointing.It's not terrible by any stretch but its just bland. Like so many have stated before me it just fails to live up to previous works, I mean it really dosen't sit with the others at all. It feels like a tired re-working of previous efforts and themes. Maybe 'Live' some of these tracks may jump out, but I feel doubtful when you know the likes of Mr.Jones, Round Here, Long December, Mrs. Potters Lullaby are coming. The Crows are and probably will always be one of my favourite bands and I know the depths this band can take you to, but I guess Im growing up a little at 30! but I don't know if this band is growing with me. Ooh La La. 10/10 Lovely 2 C U. 10/10 Ride a White Horse. 10/10 You Never Know. 9/10 Let It Take You. 7/10 Fly Me Away. 10/10 Slide In. 9.5/10 Koko. 8/10 Satin Chic. 9.5/10 Time Out From the World. 9/10 Number 1. 9/10 This album at 11 tracks long, 43 minutes, is extremely short, could've been longer but the musical quality of this album is astonishing, perfectly flawless dance music. Though beware of "Time Out From the World" and "Let It Take You" because they are nothing like the rest of the album, "Time Out From the World" is the better of the 2. OVERALL GRADE: 10/10!

Reviewing a best-selling, immensely popular album over 30 years after it was released is a bit like trying to evaluate Marmite. It's been around for ages, you know that people will always buy it, but everyone either loves it or hates it already, and there's little point trying to change their minds. For me, Rumours is just about the best album ever made, and 'Go Your Own Way' is my favourite song, my desert island disc, the one that still sends a shiver up my spine and makes me smile and / or cry (or both) every time I hear it. Hayley Westenra's voice is breathtakingly soulful, and the choicest of superlatives I can think of fail to do justice to her music. 'On Both Sides Now' is delightful, soothing the listener with a gentleness one can hardly ever grow tired of. 'Prayer' is fantastic...and I could go on like this for ages....Hayley is surely a phenomenon.

looking for an overview of Buddy Holly's work? They don't come much better than this. We can all wish this one was in there or that, but someone somewhere had to make a decision on what went in and what didn't. The result is a good all round representation of the skill, the talent, the sheer joy that was Buddy Holly's music. It is hard to believe all this happened in just 18 months. If anyone ever left a legacy, he did.
