Its great to get a CD with music that you were brought up with. I bought this CD for my niece and found myself (along with everyone else) getting more enjoyment from the CD than she did! Its great to have something to play that won't drive you nuts! My first concern in buying the CD was the songs were recorded with different voices and instruments to the films. However, the CD contains tracks that are identical to the songs that are heard on the Disney films, so the CD is everything you would expect. Recommended for young children (and adults that do not want to be driven mad by daft tunes).

The original score for Toy Story is probably the best music Randy Newman has ever written. The Score contains dozens of original themes all of which are interesting and instantly memorable. As well as the score Newman also wrote 3 songs for the movie all of which are performed by himself and have heartfelt meaning and a certain honesty that only Newman can create. Newman joins the select group of composers who have been successful at Disney Scoring including George Bruns & The Sherman Brothers, and the legends that are Alan Menken & Howard Ashman. Newman went on to score the sequel as well as other Disney Pixar movies, although very good and worth checking out none of them match his original score for Toy Story.

I was lucky enough to see the musical in New York in October and bought the soundtrack there. The music really is the best thing about it, new catchy songs have been added and are all as good as the originals that feature in the film. Sherie Rene Scott in particular who plays the villain Ursula really stands out on the soundtrack, her version of 'Poor Unfortunate Souls' is better than that of the film version and she also has a few more songs in the soundtrack that have been added to the musical but were not in the film. Overall, a fantastic soundtrack worthy of any cast recording collection and Mermaid or Disney fans in particular will love it.

I bought this soundtrack just on impulse, and also to get the amount needed for free post and packing. And I have to say, I do not regret it. I have listened to this constantly ever since I got it. I had already got The Lion King cast recording, and it is one of my favourite Disney soundtracks ever. Beauty and the Beast is certainly another one at the top of the pile! It is a completely different style of music to Lion King, but just as good! I definitely recommend it!

I bought this CD for my 1 yr old as I thought it covered alot of what I wanted for in the car. At first the CD is fun but as you get near the end of each CD (especially CD's 1 & 2) the tracks go funny, as if the entertainers have been drinking all day or been on helium. Not enjoyable at all!!!! Its like they tried to be up to date with the mixing desk but got it so wrong. 'Sing a song of sixpence' - Helium filled song. 'Simple Simon' - as if they turned the song down to slow speed and rerecorded for the album. I would not recommend this CD to anyone else based on that as the ending scared the life out of my son.
