Please ignore the Product Description by Amazon.co.uk - it says on there that 'Mean Green Mother from Outer Space' is replaced with 'Don't Feed the Plants', which on this CD it ISN'T!!! 'Mean Green Mother' is on this CD, as this CD is the movie soundtrack, not the Original Broadway soundtrack. If you are looking for the stage soundtrack, this isn't it. It's very good though - love the voice of the Plant, and Rick Moranis is brilliant.

So who would have thought of teaming Bring Crosby, Satchmo Armstrong AND Frank Sinatra together with the music of Cole Porter to dream up a "society story" around the well-heeled Newport Rhode Island clan? Well it works as a stylish collection of romantic tunes with laid back performances by Crosby. Sinatra brings a hard edge to the dialogue and albeit a slightly unusual pairing with Celeste Holm as magazine reporter/photographer duo. Grace Kelly is beautiful but almost too clean cut to be real and frankly over acts throughout. Louis Armstrong and his band adds spice in a few places and the "Well Did You Evah" duo by Crosby & Sinatra is a classic. This album has has never been far away from my CD player since it was released around 23 years ago. The music surprised a lot of people at the time because it wasn't completely representative of the Abba style. In the theatre the music is completely overwhelming. I managed to see the production 3 times, twice with the original cast and that is why I would recommend this recording above all others. Some of the players are different but the American, Russian & Florence were as heard on the CD's. The Swedish touring version mentioned further down is excellent, in that it includes the ending as we knew it & other bits and pieces. Listened to the score today for the first time. After also watching the first season of The Tudor's back to back and i am glad i did it like that cos i could not have waited a week to watch another episode. Anyway Trevor Morris scores this show perfect capturing the emotion and the period of the tudor's. If you enjoy movie scores in general and like composers such as Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams you will enjoy this score 10/10.

`Monty Python Sings' is a fantastic album collecting all the songs that populated the world of Python together in one place. It doesn't give a totally balanced view of the group with Eric Idle being the most musically versatile of the group, leading him into ventures such as The Rutles with Neil Innes of Bonzo Dog Doo-dah Band fame. Again the balance is towards the eighties output of the Python's with the majority of songs from the Contractual Obligation album which included a great wealth of song writing and also the Meaning of Life soundtrack which as a movie conceived as a series of sketches relied on a number of set piece song and dance numbers. I don't usually buy soundtracks but I liked a lot of the music on this film. Folky, uncomplicated music that is pleasant to listen to including old as well as new. I think this is a great compilation for those long lazy summer sunset evenings. It will also introduce you to a variety of artists/bands you may not have known before (like it did me).

I have just listened to the cd and it is fantastic. It doesn't matter if you are a "python" lover or not. Fantastic song writing, arrangements, great vocal performances and the production on this cd is first class. Tim Curry is as always delivering a great vocal performance, as are the rest of the cast. It is brilliant. Buy it, you wont be dissapointed!

Great for car journeys, well produced, and lots of interesting stuff. Recommended for children 8 plus. My 10, 14 and 18 year old all enjoy these Naxos books, and so do their parents. Well done naxos.

This is a good buy for people who have watched and enjoyed the film It's got most of the songs from the movie that are great to listen to or for a party if you are into that kinda of music However it doesn't have some of the catchy beats or songs that stick in your head such as Shawn Desman - So Sexy [From the second music video scene] 3rd Storee - Honey [From Honey's first choreography job scene] But it's a generally good buy and I like listening to it
