My two sons just love this . Martin Jarvis is absolutely fabulous with his voices, lisping Violet Eliabeth, and her parvenue arriviste mother. The stories are hillarious. William having to play fairies and having to say he likes all little girls(sweet little girl in white)William and the outlaws losing a baby(she is ok) and trying to replace it and ending up with 3 babies, and running from three angry mothers.(William and the triplets).Willaim showing an American around his village telling her it is Strattford Upon Avon, and passing his house off as Anne Hathaways cottage(William and the lost tourist) All the stories are so superbly read it is an absolute joy to hear. Go on buy it .

this film is an absolute must see! it will make u laugh and cry it will make you want to run to your best friend and give her a hug and tell her how much u love her i have watched this film about a hundred times but i don't get sick of it it's just amazing not to mention the main song is my favourate of all time (maybe because of this film??) Not as some have said, the original version of 'Sir Henry at Rawlinson End' but by far and away the most concise. It's all you really wanted to know about Henry Rawlinson in an easy to swallow, beautifully performed hour. And I've enjoyed this hour for what must amount to weeks in repeated plays. Even now, a word or phrase can suddenly shine out as a meaning or reference becomes clear. The narrative and songs are examples of Vivian at his very best and it comes as no surprise that this album continues to enthrall listeners decades after it's first release. This is probably THE best musical I have ever seen on stage ever (mind you, I haven't seen IDINA in Wicked yet, but I have seen Wicked, so this is saying something...) Loads of my friends didn't get why me and my friend were so in love with it until they saw it on stage. Now they listen to it all the time like we do. If you are open minded, and willing to listen to it all the way through to get the story, you'll get RENT fever too. Its phenomenal. Moo.

More often than not 'Soundtrack' means simply all the songs in the movie. More recently it has meant 10 odd tracks by the latest 'hot' artists shoehorned into a movie to make a bit of extra cash (Blade II, Swordfish the list goes on). This, however, bucks the trend so emphatically it seems churlish to put it into the 'Soundtrack' category. Trent Reznor has crafted a soundscape of par excellence, covering the emotional highs and lows seen in the film. In some respects this is a greater creative work than the film itself as it fuses so many influences, tied in with some of the finer pieces of dialogue from the movie. I was initially disappointed when I played the first track and noticed on the cover'original motion picture score'but I thought that I would give it a listen and its stunning, so if the original soundtrack is better than this then I'm a dutchman.

If you like the music from the James Bond films then this album is simply a must for your collection. The 'Ski Chase' track alone is worth the money and a few other standouts are the 'Main Theme' and of course the famous ballad 'We Have All the Time in the World'. Some people rate this as the best of the 21 Bond albums and I'd also say that it's certainly in the top three.

The tracks listed for this disc,with the exception of dylan, Kenny Rogers & Townes Van Zandt are foreign to me as regards the movie. Where are the tracks by Credence, the beautiful title track "Tumbling Tumbleweed" and the end title track by Shawn Colvin,"Viva Las Vegas"?? Most of the other listings on the disc,have no association with the film for me.

I took my daughter to see this film at the pictures when it came out and I just had to have the soundtrack its brilliant and I'm not really a Bryan Adams fan. This album led me to find Sarah Mclauchlan who duets on "Don't let go" she is excellent and is on a lot of soundtracks I now have all her albums.

This CD made for spectacular listening, i was in Treorchy on the night this was recorded and listening to it again all these years later bought back some memories. This is welsh humour at it's best and would probably be lost on anyone else, but for the pure parody of the songs it's really worth a listen.
