Having seen the show live and falling instantly in love with it I could not wait to buy the Ultimate DVD. Although the DVD was different to the live show I had seen it is still great and gave me access to great stars such as Elaine Page, Sir John Mills and Jason Gardner to name a few. So it was with eager anticipation that I ordered the soundtrack for me and my daughters to listen to in the car. We expected the soundtracks to be the same as our much loved show and DVD - THIS IS NOT THE CASE. Some of the soundtracks are sung by other people and the standard is no where near the standard recieved on the DVD - the only exception being Memories by Elaine Page. We were personally horrified by one of our favourites Mungojerri and Rumpleteazer where ... Read More:

212.Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat by: Original Cast Recording

I bought this CD after seeing the show. The CD is fab with great performances all round. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 as Jason Donovan's vocals as Joseph are often very soft and can't be heard clearly over the music, and the "s"'s seem a bit over done, a tad tad slurry. This may not be a reflection of his performance; it may be a production issue with the CD. Either way, it makes his performance seem a bit dumbed-down compared to the others.

The variation in stlye between tracks, and the the fun element which oozes out of each lyric like drool from a laughing nutter help to make this a musical which can be enjoyed by people of all ages. My two year old daughter loves this on in the car, and I look forward to taking her to watch it ... Read More:

This is probably one of the best soundtracks to any film I've heard. It added perfectly to each moment in the film, but stands up in it's own right as a excellent collection of tracks. This is a great album to kick back to whilst reading, or chilling on lazy Sunday afternoons and if you loved the film, this album will not disappoint.

This soundtrack is certainly a popular one today but in my opinion, highly overrated. When I saw the movie, I thought that the hobbit music was a standout but remembered little else and the same is true for the CD. It excels in atmosphere and size but (apart from the hobbit music) has very little character; something that I feel is essential in a soundtrack of this sort. If you're hoping to hear the 'Ring Theme' (which is repeated over and over in the first film), it appears only once on the CD and the Nazgul music is a little dominating and repetitive for just one disc (even though the choir does send a nice shiver down the spine). The best thing about this soundtrack is the fact it has given Howard Shore's profile a much-needed push and I hope he can return to ... Read More:

I've seen the movie twice. I enjoyed the music too. Most of the themes are known and popular and I was decided to buy it for just 2 reasons: Gabriel Yared's delicious score (the music while Richard is looking at Jennifer looking at the window in Miss Mitzi's school)and the tango they dance togheter. I hate when moviemakers discard a score to sell songs.

This is the soundtrack of one of the best and most memorable films I have seen this year. The CD is a wondeful reminder of the beauty of Piafs singing, Cant wait for the DVD to come out if you can see ther Film It contains all the songs from the film except the French National Anthem sung while a child which I owuld have liked on there, there are many other titles that are not by Paif but nset the scene of her life.

In my record collection, I have an old vinyl LP of the soundtrack of the film Carousel.I never thought the recording was very good, even though I love the songs. However, this new remastered CD is really first class, giving a new feel to the songs, plus extra music not available on the old version. If yiu have fond memories of the film, this is the recording to buy.

a brilliant soundtrack slightly overshadowed by Jimmy Nails' over-inflated ego. His nasally whining vocal style marrs an otherwise five star album. Thankfully Bill Nighy has talent and the Strange Fruit tracks on the album certainly make up for any failings in the 'Nail' camp. Buy the album, skip tracks 1, 3 and 9 and you're in for a treat.

Over the years Andrew Lloyd Webber has made many musicals, some more successful and appealing to the public than the others. Most people will, however, agree that "Evita" remains one of his most satisfying works to this date. Numerous reasons confirm this statement. Just like in its predecessor "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Evita" is almost entirely sung-through; the lyrics are witty and appropriate; the subject matter is again a personality larger-than-life who rises from obscurity and dies at the peak of its fame, thus becoming a legend; the score is captivating and appealing to the listener, at home or in the theatre.

Following the suit of the Superstar, ALW and Tim Rice first published Evita as an album, which appeared in 1976. It was an instant success ... Read More:
