can scarcely believe that with so many tracks 2 of my favourites are not there : I'm looking out the window ( isn't no 2 a big enough hit?), and Ocean Deep ( a regular fans favourite ). I could go on, but those 2 struck me immediately. I will save my £100!The 78 is a gimmick too....

Well-crafted songs, an expressive voice, wonderful harmonies, thoughtful lyrics and a lightness of touch on this beautiful collection of acoustic-based melodies. Wonderful.

For the price, this album is great value. The orchestrations are well done without being overblown and the sound quality is excellent. This is an ideal CD to have playing quietly in the background as you wrap presents, decorate the tree or trim the sprouts. It won't stop you in your tracks and make you think "That's stunning!", but neither will you wince. Definitely worth getting. I bought it for just one track, Carol of the Bells, and I was quite pleased with the rest as well.

The name Frank Sinatra is synonymous with with Jazz, Swing and Orchestral sound of music. He had an unmatched vocal talent and his music will always be viewed as legendary. It's hard to believe it's just over 10 years since we unfortunately lost this musical great. The Platinum collection compiles all of his classic greats that anyone and everyone would recognise instantly. His music wasn't made in the same way as todays standards. It wasn't released album by album, and you didn't need crazy looking music videos in order to get people to pay attention. You've probably dismissed Diamond as music your mum listens to. You're wrong to think this because you'll be missing some great pompous rock songs. Some of it's cheesy, but a lot of what is on this best of is genuinely good stuff. His name looks like an anomaly on my MP3 player's artist list. The thing is, I'm not ashamed as I love these big over the top (orchestra included on everything) songs. And you don't have to worry about good taste getting in the way of your listening experience. Some of these songs even rock in their own way. Though it's best to skip the Streisand duet. And Brooklyn Road and Morningside don't stand up after a few listens. Otherwise it's great. This is Streisand's masterpiece. No question. Written and produced by Barry Gibb this is a record full of beautifully crafted and arranged love songs and ballads. Babs penchant for big show tunes is kept in check and her pop vocal performances throughout are exceptional. Woman In Love was a UK number 1 but is in no way the strongest track here. Guilty, The Love Inside and My Life Story are gorgeous songs that sound as great today as they did nearly 30 years ago ! It's all about the voice and on Guilty she reached her zenith. The rest of the 80's and 90's would see Streisand record endless covers versions & show songs, perform the odd concert, take a few minor film roles and generally coast quietly into old age. I must admit, I'm not exactly a fan or Tom Jones, but my sister already has this album and when I listened to it I just had to buy it. The man has an awesome voice and every track on this album is totally different. A good one to add to your collection!

This is among the best CDs I have ever bought! I've been listening to it for 2 months straight, and I'm still not sick of it! Listening to John's voice as he sings these songs makes me laugh, makes me cry, and occasionally makes me cry out his name in pleasure. There's a great selection of songs, and they are just sung so beautifully! Love it!

The singing is very poor. Her voice is weak. Please try Renee Fleming or Anne Sofie Von Otter. They wipe the floor with Katherine vocally. I brought this CD to see what all the hype was and I can only assume it is because she is very pretty.Shame we cant say that about her voice
