A superb quality recording, Niiklas Eklund's tone is superb, the pieces make for lovely listening for any trumpeter and the concerti can be placed among the great trumpet pieces. Best CD I have ever bought. Eklund makes it sound so easy and this is an inspirational recording. The pieces are hard, but listening to this CD is a real pleasure.

I bought this CD on a recommendation. If I had heard it first I probably would not have. The music needs a fair bit of listening to but perseverance will pay off. More interesing than beautiful this is a good recording for expanding your musical taste.

I was quite worried that at the very low price, this CD was going to be unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. The selection of music includes the usual pieces such as Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor and Widor's Toccata, but also includes some interesting arrangements of Ride of the Valkyries and Danse Macabre. I was pleasantly surprised with the sound of the Instrument, and glad to hear a "traditional" registration for the well known pieces. This CD would be very good for selection of wedding pieces, and for fans of the "Iron Voice".

This is an outstanding complete cycle of Beethoven's Piano Concertos. I ordered it after being very disappointed with the Brendel/Rattle set (from which I expected great things being a great admirer of both) and this Uchida/Sanderling set was a revelation. Uchida's more recent recordings of the late Piano Sonatas have proved her to be a very fine interpreter of Beethoven, winning almost universal praise, and this re-issue of her earlier ventures into Beethoven shows that she is very, very good in the concertos as well. As with her excellent Mozart concertos, one of Uchida's great strengths is her restraint and refusal to resort to the sort of techniques which are intended to draw attention to the brilliance of the soloist and ...
