This isn't just my favourite Floyd album but my favourite album of all time. If it was vinyl I would have worn it out years ago. I don't even know who Roger Waters is/was and his presence could not have improved this superb CD. Sure, old Floyd stuff is good but this is their best.

one word amazeing stairway to heaven alone!! fantastic album no 1 rocks like zep jimmy page one of the best guitarists ever along with david gilmour but my favourite is jimi hendrix electric ladyland wow!! buy this album classic rightly so!!

Just to get more precise about figures: BIA was certified 9 times platinum in the US alone (without counting Canada or latin America), which means it sold 9 million there. It sold over 14 million in Europe. (with 4 million in the UK alone - certified in 2000, 2 million+ in France, certified in 1994!) These figures don't include those of Australia, Japan, the African continent, Russia, the East Countries, Arab countires, Israel... Remark that these figures approximately date back to 1999-2000. No update has been made since then. They may well have evolved as a consequence. Nowadays critical consensus often ranks this as The Beatles' best album, and indeed one of the best albums ever made. While it's only my second favourite by them personally (The White Album being first), this is still one of the greatest albums I own. Revolver is the point where The Beatles ceased to be a pop group and became something else entirely. Shortly after its release they gave up touring, having tired of performing to screaming fans when they'd much rather be holed away in a recording studio making new music. This also allowed them to be more experimental, recording sounds that could never have been recreated in stadiums and arenas at the time. No, surely not. But yes, Van Morrison is 'reviving' Astral Weeks on stage. He really shouldn't bother. This album is full of unlistenable blathering. Morrison tries so hard to be 'Poetic' and to sing with 'abandonment'. The result is a dog's dinner. I'd read about the album's 'Classic' status, and felt I'd been really duped. I won't be a ripped-off concert-goer. Not for this. Next...

I have been a fan for many years and own this album already on vinyl and cd.It is one of the classic albums of all time and I play it regularly,but this is no different in sound to any other format I have.If your going to sell it as something different you would at least expect SACD or DVD audio.

with such a mass of material to choose from,it is difficult for any record label to put together a 'good' collection that shows the entire range of Elvis' great songs but this goes a long way toward it. Well worth the place on the shelf.

Thank you CSI. Thank you very much. You give me to things I cherish in life. The Who and Gary Sinise. Amen. I can rant about how beautiful Gary Sinise is another day, but now, this is all about The Who. The Who. Who are they you migh ask. Who are The Who? How can you answer a quistion like that... They are maybe the best British band ever. They are unique. Sensational, brillaint and have fancy hair. (Not pointing at anyone, Roger. XD) If I ever met someone named Baba O'Riely, i'd tell her to stop crying, we all live in a Teenage Wasteland anyway... And The Who made that Teenage Wasteland a better place...

I had of course always been aware of the Beach boys, but being a 17 year old brit, they were never top of my 'to listen list'. However I saw a rhcp cover of I get around,liked it, and decided to buy a complation of beach boy songs to take on my summer holiday. Needless to say they are now one of my favourite bands up there with the Ramones and the Beatles. This compliation, as an introduction, is really good. It has all of the biggest hits. However going back to it now after hearing the likes of Pet sounds, sunflower and all summer long, I cant help but feel that some of the best songs are missing. The likes of 'Wendy', 'All summer Long', and later masterpeices like 'forever' are nowhere to be seen. But as an introduction, this is really good.

So Roger Waters threw the toys out of the pram and spat out his dummy. Who the hell cares? He went on to have a successful solo career and jolly good luck to him. But to then say, oh well Pink Floyd is no longer in existence and this is a Gilmour solo album, under the name of Pink Floyd, is frankly infantile. This is David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright and they are as much the essence of Pink Floyd as Roger Waters ever was. Oh and by the way if Roger Waters was so damn sure that Floyd could not exist without him, why did he take such trouble to exclude Rick Wright and draw up legal papers preventing him from ever rejoining the group?
