Parachutes is still my favourit album from Coldplay. This album contributed to coldplays success with great songs Shivers, Yellow, High Speed, Everythings not lost. What can I say one of the best English bands ever.

Dont listen to the VERY FEW 1 star ratings here, They obviously just have something against Oasis. This album is amazing and has hit after hit, if you havn't got it then buy it now! Champagne Supernova is my fave on the album and is a great last track for the album.

It's an okay album, but he ain't his dad when it comes to lyrics but then who is? The photography seems to suggest he's embracing his history a bit more than in his Wallflowers days. Worth a few listens, but won't win any new fans.

possibly the most irritating bunch of useless dim wits to grace the music scene ever, the songs really are scraping the barrel to the point where it becomes quite offensive. Most of the songs comprise of background music reminisent of the type found on old commodore 64 computer games (only not as good) with that vile singer chanting the same childish lyrics over and over again in that horrible whiney voice. Unfortunately this is the type of music your average thick moron seems to like these day's.

I bought this after my 7 year old kept playing 'No Air' over and over again and it got me singing along. I guessed the rest of the album would be good. I don't dislike it as such, but I'm not keen either. There is no denying she has talent, great looks and a beautiful voice, but I am just so sick and tired of hearing young artists singing about how the world has let them down in love and in a few of her songs, she was the same. Having said that, I am a very upbeat person and I like music to lift me and make me want to dance to happy lyrics, so maybe I am not best to commment. I don't want to hear about someone being hurt, destroyed, upset, left alone, crying, heartbroken etc. It's whiney and annoying and it does nothing that music is supposed to do, lift spirits ... This is a good collection of Simon & Garfunkel's wonderful work, and a good place to start if unfamiliar with their music. However, I prefer their double disc 'Tales From New York'. That collection expands on what is here, particularly including some of their important early stuff, and is a better representation of the diversity of their music.

Bought this cd a few weeks ago and just can't stop listening to it. Whatever mode i am in, it cheers me up and makes me smile great album really worth getting.

i love the carpenter's ! it's just pure easy listening, calm and classic album ! when u just want to relax in the bath, take 5 mins from a stressed day this is the album you should choose.

Personally I'm sick and tired of people harping on about how great this album is, yeah O.K. it's not bad but there are millions of far better albums out there in all kinds of genres, check out some Drum and Bass on the Hospital Records label like "high contrast" and you will see what I mean, and no I'm not a young hoodie I'm in my forties. Sorry Pink it's too outdated now.
