but that applies to all of Leonard Cohen's albums. "I'm your Man" features his perhaps most famous - or certainly one of his most famous - tracks of all time, FIRST WE TAKE MANHATTAN which is my favorite from this album and has been covered many times, but never has been performed as good as here. This certainly marks a change in Leonard Cohen's music, now not as minimalistic as before, but still as great as ever.

i loved this album. from the first listen i was transported to another world and gladly let rev take the reins. i would suggest listening on an ipod as the music is definately better with full focus not just background noise. mercury rev are a band with an individual sound, fantastic!

This 2-disc edition, as well as including a DVD, also has one exclusive bonus track that is not on the standard 1-disc edition. This is a new version of Miss You from the Insomniac album and when I say it's a new version, I mean that very literally. It's a duet with French singer Nadiya and the song has been completely re-worked both lyrically and musically. It's a brilliant new interpretation and if you like this then I would recommend tracking down the French release of Tired of Being Sorry (Laisse Le Destin L'Emporter) either as a single or on the French version of Insomniac where Enrique and Nadiya also worked together. I would guess that the Amazon reviewer Warwick Thompson is under 25. Anyway, he writes as if he is, judging by his use of the English language ("think Goldfinger", eeeeeeeeh!). He also believes that L'Homme Armee is 16th century. Oh dear. I find the reviews of the actual buyers much more to the point, wheher positive or negative. Pity that the text of the Amazon reviewer is displayed at the top. OK?

I bought this today and overall I think it's a good CD. If you like to dance and you like commercial pop music then this will get you moving. Only a few `fillers'. I'm a Salsa teacher/dancer and I like to dance to disco music old and new. This got me up and dancing.

i love the carpenter's ! it's just pure easy listening, calm and classic album ! when u just want to relax in the bath, take 5 mins from a stressed day this is the album you should choose.

You would have to be a heartless moron not to be moved by the wonderful 'Song of Peace'. I had never heard of Will Martin either, until I received an email from amazon as I had bought CD's by similar artists. I was curious enough to listen to the sound bites from the album and bought it on the spot. I will certainly be buying any subsequent ones. No, his voice is not as strong as an older singer with more training, but I hope he never changes his gloriously pure voice by overtraining, which can lead to a loss of identity- too many highly trained singers sound so alike that it ... This is a pretty decent stab at a Xmas party album but suffers from the usual faults ie Because the record company behind it can't obtain permission to use all the tracks they might want, you end up with this compromise. Unfortunately in this instance they've made matters worse by substituting inferior versions of some tracks for the real thing(surely no one actually believes "Fairytale of Newyork" is enhanced by Ronan Keating's contributions). There is a fairly simple solution:Buy this album AND "Chritmas Hits"(a three CD set that can be got pretty cheaply), although there is quite a bit of over-lap, the two discs together should provide all the material you need to put together a tailor-made great xmas party album.

I know that this band has influences from Coldplay and Keane, but they are much better than those bands in my opinion. I thought Keane's singles from the last album were great, especially Crystal ball, so I think this is more like the new Keane than the old Keane. Although I think OneRepublic is their own individual band and maybe they shouldn't be compared. When I first heard this band's song re-mixed by Timbaland, I wasn't expecting the band to do any solo songs because I thought it was sort of organised by Timblalnd, but it turns out that Timbaland re-mixed OneRepublic's version of Apologize and made it sound better.
