This is a good CD with some catchy songs on it, but they can get a bit boring after a while. But it still has some catchy songs on it, so i'm giving it 5 stars.

Some very clever songs on this album which show the inovative side to the Raconteurs!!

I really like the whimsical, slightly retro, ELO-inspired sound these lads create. I loved Goodbye Mr A and I liked Worried About Ray as singles so I was intrigued as to what the rest of the album would sound like. The album as a whole is good, but not great. There are no other tracks which stand out to me, and it sounds rather generic, like a cross between ELO and The Feeling, which should be good, but this album does not really excite or inspire me, despite it being listenable.

I bought this set largely on word-of-mouth recommendation after I heard and greatly enjoyed a cover-performance of one of Jake Thackray's songs. The songs talk of love and life and are touching with an engaging boy-next-door earthiness. I can see why Jake Thackray has a cult following. Some of his songs are humourous in a mouth-twitching kind of way, although the meek melodies and sparsity of presentation lead the listener to lean heavily on the lyrics. However, to the uninitiated some of it may be a little inaccessible and, for someone so reliant on lyrics, dare I say it, on occasion pointless. I just listened to this album for the first time and I admit it is one of the best recorded by Britney. Differently than Blackout, this album provides wonderful ballads, returning, this way, to a comprehensive Britney. It is very hard to define rating, but I listened carefully each track and decided that only a fabulous track, such as Toxic, would be rated as 5 stars. A really excellent Kinks collection. The whole CD drips with classy recordings from a hugely influential band. The price is a steal, the quality is uncompromising. A treasure trove of innovative British music, full of songs that surely require little or no introduction. The Kinks made some superb music & a good cross section can be found here - you really would be barking mad not to get this, it's just ideal !

...if you havnt heard of muse...please turn off your PC and jump off a cliff as your not worth living! This CD/DVD is amazing ! like many others - I was at this gig. But i went to BOTH dates that weekend (16th and 17th) I had a seat for the saturday and i got RIGHT TO THE FRONT on the 17th (and was delighted to find out they were filming the DVD for that night!) I just WISH WISH WISH...Muse played 'microcuts' on the sunday instead of the saturday as its their BEST SONG BY FAR ! i went mental when they played it on the saturday. (as i had a bet with my mate who is the biggest muse fan ever - that they would play it) i won...and he had to eat his trainer! So I've just moved home and my record collection is in complete disaray. I want to listen to something before going on a big (and I mean big) night out but I can't find anything Then I see this. I haven't listened to this for years. In fact I'm not sure I've lisened to it since I got it from a charity shop (where most of my vinyl comes from) about eight years ago. It sounds wonderful. If you have this record I suggest that you put it on now. Nothing needs to be said about Grace Jones, a woman whose image eventually overcame the music until all most people can remember is her attacking Russell Harty. Josh Groban has an absolutely beautiful voice - a singer that steps on the line between baritone and tenor. It's quite an experience to listen to, and I got his album upon hearing great reviews from my friends who'd listened to him in America beforehand. Check him out, he is indeed very good. He has a very relaxing, lullaby-like tone - in a nutshell. This is a compilation of Christmas songs, but, I (and hopefully, you) can listen to them any time of year - they're very relaxing. :)

This one took quite a few listenings before I began to realise the strength of some of the lyrics and the emotional power of just about every track. Some don't like the strong presence of female vocals - personally I love this especially on 'Alexandra Leaving' and 'Here it is'. I love this album and think others who know Cohen's work will too - and hopefully, many others who don't know his work will hereby get to know it.
