in my opinion this is the best of all the pink albums there is, "im not dead" is very good too, but this one is so cool and every single on of the songs is brilliant! pink is so cool!

This is a brilliant album, and long, long overdue. It showcases the work of the much-missed BBC Radiophonic Workshop between 1958 and 1997, including music from "The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy", Radio 4's "PM" news programme, "The Demon Headmaster", the BBC's Natural World programmes and many others. I was particularly pleased to see the inclusion of Peter Howell's "The Astronauts". Most of the album is essentially a CD re-issue of two BBC Radiophonic Workshop LPs: "21" and "Soundhouse", released in 1979 and 1983, but also contains some gems that have never before been released. Of course, the collection contains perhaps the workshop's most famous recording - the theme from Dr Who, and the Tardis sound effect. Read More:

I bought this album on the strength of the song You've Got A Friend, having thought there must be more to his brilliance than just this one song. I wasn't wrong. When I heard this album, there were many songs I already knew...I just did not know, for some reason, that James Taylor was behind them. Overall, this has been a brilliant re-introduction and introduction to the best of James Taylor's music. It's very easy to listen to and to relax to, despite being moving and having lyrics which make you think. My personal favourite tracks are: Fire And Rain, You've Got A Friend, Handyman, Shower The People, although most people know Carolina In My Mind and Something In The Way She Moves. The Beatles. A band that are so familiar to everyone in the western world that it's easily possible to live 25-30 years without hearing one of their albums from start to finish. You just hear it everywhere. But that's just the thing; you always hear the same songs - essentially, the ones from the Red and Blue albums. I remember being captivated at a very young age by the otherworldly songs on the Blue Album - Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds probably contributed to my later interest in psychedelic substances - and I began to appreciate the quality of songwriting on the Red Album, rather than the actual songs themselves when I started learning to play guitar at 16. I was disappointed by this CD. It's just as well that it is very reasonably priced, or I would be awarding two stars. I assume that the idea is to provide a compilation of tunes ideally suited to Ballroom or Latin dancing, in versions that take into account the particular needs of dancers. Instead, we have some fairly ordinary versions of the tunes, sometimes at rather strange tempos. For example, Norah Jones' version of "Come away with me" is equally good as a waltz, and musically more satisfying than Track 7. Similarly "Smooth"; the Santana/Rob Thomas version is an excellent Cha Cha and cannot be bettered. This one won't be spending much time in the CD player. More melodic than Mr A-Z and so the production is slightly different to suit the style and its a fantastic result! A very gifted singer/songwriter, Favourite song is Butterfly; if i had to choose my favourite song's i would struggle so ive narrowed it down to just one. The album such great feel and some great moments such as on Make It Mine in the 2nd verse, the few seconds before it goes into the chorus, the hits on buttefly are fantastic, the subtlety of the percussion on Coyotes starting with the electronic groove and moving to a real drum sound is genius. Theres plenty on here to make you say "this is a great album" Big thumbs up!

Great album with all my favourite tracks. How disappointed I was though with the revamped new vocal for Wuthering Heights. It was overproduced too much backing and Kate's voice dare I say did sound rather tinny and harsh. The rest of the tracks are super Cloudbusting is great and all my old favourites. I must track down the original wuthering Heights as I have them all on vinyl but not CD.
