from Gimme Shelter to the last track, good stuff. Very difficult to say something that has not been said already, hard to differentiate between the tracks and say this is better than that. Taken overall, none are better than any other, the whole is one perfect album as performed by the Stones, who are one perfect rock band.

If this really were the best of Cream it would consist almost entirely of live tracks whereas in fact there is only one included here, the celebrated 'Crossroads'. In any case 'Wrapping Paper' and 'Anyone For Tennis' obviously have no business being here as 'the best of' but are here simply because they happened to be released as singles, more because of Cream's management than Cream themselves. On the other hand of course this sort of compilation traditionally rounds up things that are not included on the main albums thus insuring sales to completists.
I really wish they had not chosen to take 'I'm So Glad' from 'Fresh Cream' as this does sound very artificial especially when compared with the amazing live version on 'Goodbye Cream'. There are other ... Read More:

How come all this extra stuff has sat in boxes in some
darkened cupboard for the last 35 years ??? It's not as though the original LP had no spare space. Well anyone thinking of dabbling with drugs should listen to this. I'm not an advocate of putting out anything and everything that an artist ever recorded but this 2CD set is a real education. There is everything here from truely stellar brilliance to
slow and dull mediocrity ; fortunately much more of the former. All these
years later we are reminded of what a talent PFK was but how he
squandered his talents. A very tragic tale.

This is a really welcome re-issue from Rhino and at this price it's a total steal. Bond of course was originally a jazzer and famously replaced Cyril Davies in Alexis Korner's Blues Inc. He was equally at home on alto sax and hammond organ and we owe him a huge debt as he brought Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker together in the power house Graham Bond Organisation. When they departed, Jon Hiseman was recruited and met up with Dick Heckstall-Smith - of course they were later to form the excellent Collosseum, building on the Bond sound.

Unfortunately there are no sleeve notes or session details but this simply means that you can play your own game deciding the personnel on each track as clearly there are a couple of different line ups. One decidedly leans ... Read More:

106.Continuum by: John Mayer

His best album yet, this is just a joy to listen to -- from the bursting guitar tones of "Waiting on the World To Change" to the mellow "Slow Dancing In A Burning Room". If you like John Mayer, you won't be disappointed -- but keep your eyes peeled for the Special Edition of this album, which includes live tracks!

I wish I could start by giving this album more stars. As far as a Jimi Hendrix 'best of' goes, you can't do much better than this. One disc of his best known tracks and another of live and rarer music. The two sides to Jimi's music, the polished, yet still powerfully raw studio work and the soaring, imaginative and soul lifting live work. Hendrix was innovative and unique in his time and listening to his music you are struck again and again by the fact that he is still unsurpassed. His sound has been emulated (often poorly) but never bettered. 'All along the watchtower' and 'Voodoo Chile' start with full force and slap you in the face, where tracks like 'Angel' and 'Little Wing' lull you into his psychedelic, magical patchwork. His guitar sound and wonderful lyrics have ... Read More:

....it's going to be. That is ....it isn't Buena Vista Social Club, it isn't Ibrahim Ferrer, it isn't Ali Farka Toure, it isn't Flaco Jimenez. But then again it's all of these and more. In particular it's more of Ry and in a bigger sense its more altogether. A commanding view with all Ry Cooder's talents of bringing together disparate elements into a musical whole. Every play pays off and the record gets better and better with each hearing. In some ways it reminds me of early spring backs to folk melodies on "Into the Purple Valley" but with everything that he has done since coming together over a long and fruitful career and adding to the disc. Quite possibly the best thing that he has out together for a long time and worth persisting with

I have the original LP ( does anyone remember Long Playing Records ? ) So I bought the CD.Then the 2 CD version came out, which I bought. The newest version is great, due to the second CD which has the original recording, not released before, plus some extra out-takes & concert recordings from one of Skynyrds last concert recordings before their plane crash.
Well worth buying for old, or new fans !

What can anyone really say about Jimi Hendrix that hasnt already been said?
So i'm not gonna bore you with a cornucopia of superlatives or eulogies that would be ssssssso so deja vu, but i will say two things anyway.

1) I have the original gatefold vinyl copy of this wonderful second album i bought from a local 2# hand record store in Reading that no longer exists and i paid £3 for it!!! And i aint selling!

2) There are guitar players and then there is Jimi Hendrix. Whether it be The Experience, Band Of Gypsies or any other ensemble to grace his name he was and continues to be the most creative, colourful and bewildering guitarist/singer/composer and force ever. And 40 yrs on theres still no one that can touch him.

We miss you so much. ... Read More:
