These songs alone would have made Eliminator one of ZZ Top's three greatest albums, their embrace of Rock-synths and sequencers make this a blockbuster filled with hits & pure Energy. It's still an excellent ZZ Top album, whether Fans or blues purists alike believe it or not, definitely one of their best, thanks in part to their unflaggingly accurate grooves & timing. Then again, that's part of the album's charm, this is new wave blues-rock,looking as good as the omnipresent convertible on the cover, not really the sort of old-school album blues-rock purists will love or appreciate,But one heck of a fun groove-licious album to rock your sound system to

This is a great collection of Buddy Guy's Chicago recordings, & they really hit the spot. The guitar playing is wonderful, but not as wild as it should have been due to views of taste from the time!

This is still a superb CD and well worth getting.

A collection of songs from one of the USA'S most underated bands. Apart from a few personal choices, the ommision of Day and Night is a major error. That said if you want a broad look at Little Feat this album will satisfy your curiosity. Llowell
George slide guitar hits the spot and the rythmn section holds everything together. They deserved more fame than they got and on a good night there was no better live band around.

This CD celebrates Taj's 40 years in the biz and mainly follows on from his 90s records like 'Phantom Blues', 'Senor Blues' and 'Dancing the blues' which were all very accessible with lots of uptempo R&B covers. I'd say this CD is even better than those records, a great mix of blues, R&B and world music offering great variety, good songs and wonderful playing. Apparently it's Taj's first new recording in five years and he certainly sounds really fresh and raring to go.

We get off to a great start with Slim Harpo's "Scratch my back" done Stax style courtesy of the Phantom Blues Band (Wot no harp?). They also finish off the record with a great version of the Willie Dixon/Captain Beefheart song "Diddy Wah Diddy". Jack Johnson appears as a guest ... Read More:

It`s so horrible to think of Lynyrd Skynyrd recording a Christmas album like they did in 2000. Ronnie, Allen and Steve must have been spinning in their graves. The fact is, and I saw the reformed 1991-version and bought the albums from that time too, that in 1977 these guys were dangerously close to world domination...they had just released the incredible "Street Survivors", which suggested the addition of Steve Gaines would add a another dimension, and also their world tour had left fans worldwide gasping for more. The band consumed so many drugs and so much alcohol that it`s a wonder they ever made it to the stage, but they did, and they were on cracking form at the Fox Theatre back in `76.

I`m not absolutely sure about the set-list but ... Read More:

The new album by the best guitarist in the world bar none - you really need to know no more ! I heard Sonny Landreth by accident on "Last FM" and was so captivated that i rushed out and bought all of his albums that i could lay my hands on. Unfortunately because of the English mentality that was "none" at the time and I had to order from the USA. If you're coming to Sonny Landreth now you are luckier as these fine albums are now available in this country easily through Amazon. This is Mr Landreth's latest offering and a fine piece of work it is too. Most albums featuring "guest stars" can get a little tiresome as it can turn into a "spot who's playing what" exercise but this is a fabulous album where everything just blends together perfectly. There's not a duff track ... Read More:

Freddie King is very rocky with a Texas style bluesman and this album really displays it. You can clearly see where guitarists such as Eric Clapton and Johnny Winter got some of their style from. This album is a great representation of his work with some great songs. For me as a young guitarist I would rate this as first class to any of the other blues influences and modern bands I have heard. Its an awesome album definately worth getting.
