I bought this album on the strength on the one song i heard on the radio " I Cant Make You Love Me" and was suprised to find so many other gems on this album. I really didnt know alot about Bonnie Raitt but i am glad that i do now, she has a really sweet voice and the songs are just beautifull they really seem to hit me where i am at in my life at this present moment. I would recommend her to anyone.

This debut album is all you would expect from a band featuring musicians, most of whom had served their apprenticeships with the likes of Graham Bond and John Mayall. Colosseum used this grounding to create a fusion of blues, rock and jazz which was often copied but NEVER bettered. From the opener, Bond's "Walking in the park" to "Those about to die" which closes the original album Hiseman and co deliver a top quality set which while tight allows individuals room to experiment. Vocals were never to the forefront in early Colosseum music, four instrumentals on this album are, "Mandarin", "Beware the ides of march" and "The road she walked before" and "Those about to die". I'm no world music expert, but from time to time something comes along from outside the English speaking world that demands my attention. 'Aman Iman' is such an album. These Touareg musicians from the Western Sahara create a music whose 'otherness' is obvious, yet which is immediately accessible to western sensibilities. Their music evokes the solitude of the desert and the loneliness of exile, and yet is life affiriming and joyous. It's a thrumming, hypnotic, even foot-stomping sound, not obviously African, with arabic influences and hints of the blues, and deserves a wider audience.

As you can assume from the title (Second Helping) this was Lynyrd Skynyrd's follow-up to "Pronounced..." and I think with that consisting of songs they'd been playing on tour for years, this is a better album. It is full of classics - Sweet Home Alabama, Workin' for MCA, The Ballad of Curtis Loew and Call me the breeze. I don't think that there is one duff moment, if you're into either country rock or any 1970's music you should buy this. The band were on top form and the guitar army (Gary Rossington, Allen Collins and Ed King) were the perfect backing to Ronnie Van Zant's vocals. Buy this album and rock!

The reviewer who claimed there was too much mixing was right! I wish I'd paid more attention. In my opinion, these classic tracks are better heard in their original "bit ropey" form. These are too sanitized, too clean; I'm not keen. These have been mixed to death - almost. There is too much echo, the sound is almost sterile at times. I am not questioning the amazing tracks from a great band, I am not happy about the way they have been messed about with! What a shame.

Not only are the Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir a brilliant live band, their new album is a swirl of blues rhythms,mashed-up with country and punk. The vocals are a bit Tom Waits-y, and that's meant in a good way. From crawling, clanking Son House numbers to whirling dervish roots workouts, if you like your music raw and exciting these are the boys for you.

I got this album from Buddy's my space site before it was generally released and for guitar players and Blues lovers this is a must have CD for your collection along with the other GREAT Blues players. The songs are original, except for the ZZ Top Cover, and are tight and inventive and sometimes witty, 2nd Banana. Not a dud song amongst them and he can sing as well. Buddy is a top Blues player and deserves some real success, spread the word and let's hope we don't have to wait too long for the next one.

i heard probably their greatest ever song 'house of the rising sun' which gave them a number 1 in england and the USA about a year ago so when i saw the album on sale at amazon i decided to buy it and im glad i did! the animals have a different sound from my other cds which are in my collection including the kinks, led zeppelin, the beatles, the rolling stones and the who but is definetly one of the greatest albums i have ever bought, tracks such as we gotta get outta of this place, its my life, road runner, dimples, dont let be misunderstood and im gonna change the world are great tracks and also boom boom and club a go go tiperfy how great this album actually is!!!! great band! dont hesitate in purchasing this album.

I have a few of Eric Clapton's albums plus a few he's recorded in other bands and 'Slowhand' typifies how frustrating he is. Rightly regarded as one of the greatest rock guitarists, he never seems to produce an album about which you can say, 'That's the one.' Instead, what you get are a handful of brilliant gems and an equal measure of forgettable, if competent, workouts. The three heavyweight tracks appear at the front of the album. 'Cocaine' has never been one of my favourite songs, but he does deliver it with impressive force. 'Wonderful Tonight' worked its way into the public consciousness over many years and is the kind of tender song that's difficult to pull off without sounding watery.
