Patti's early noughties output has always been overtly political, but few of her latter-day records have the power, the scope, the vision or the FIRE of this magnificent album. "Trampin" is the sound of Patti trying to "make heaven her home," a message she explicitly preaches throughout the album, which can be interpreted as her heartfelt reaction to the Iraq War & 9/11, and her attempt to make sense of the world as a poet. "Jubilee" begins the album in a typically beatific fashion. The violins resound over stirring, uplifting guitars as she beats of the message "freedom ring" over this powerful rock beat. As far as compilation albums go this is good, in fact very good BUT it could have been even better. While both discs are brimming with great chill-out moments from the likes of Lemon Jelly, Sigur Ros, Royksopp, Richard Hawley etc. the flip side of the coin sees Norah Jones (WHY????), Coldplay (NOT AGAIN !!!) and Corinne Bailey Rae (YAWN) damage your senses. Stand out track is Angi by Davy Graham (I'll definately be checking out more of his music) and who in their right mind will want to hear Nizlopi's JCB Song on a Sunday morning after a heavy night on the booze?

The Tribe have been bringing us great hip hop for the past 13 years and have had a good career. This is a collection of remixes from their first few singles, and they're worthy. Norman Cook's remix of Lost my wallet in El Segando brings a raggae remix with dub influences. Other remixes worth checking are the boilerhouse remix of can I kick it and check the rhim e from Mr Muhammed. Altogether a good mix of dance, house, hip hop and raegge.

I am a very big fan of Aerosmith and recently bought the box set. I already owned some of the CD's in the box set but some of them i could not get my hands on so i bought it. Especialy good value just for the bonus disc which i think is amazing. I now own all the aerosmith albums and have double copies of some. A must buy for any real Aerosmith fan.

Quite a shock on first listen. No, Duglas hasn't gone death metal, but it's a big lush production, very 70s FM sounding. Lots of electric piano and analogue synth sounds, huge, brilliant, vocal arrangements. Sounds like Todd Rundgren/Hall and Oates/Jimmy Webb/Glen Campbell/ Roger Nicholls/ Bacharach/Steely Dan but still unmistakably Duglas. Beautiful songs, beautifully sung and beautifully arranged. Duglas sounding better with every year and what a voice Rachel has. Strong but subtle with folky inflections and touches of Dionne Warwick and even a smidgen of Cilla when she was at her 60s best (before she lost control of the unpleasant edge to her voice). Fantastic.

Listening to James Blunt for the first time, I wasn't sure what to think of this artist. I've listened to many types of musicians during my time and I'll have to be honest it took me only two times to enjoy his music. When The Bedlam Sessions came out, it took no time for me to purchase this item. Watching the DVD of his performance shows how much passion and desire he has for his music. The complete package is great. You get a live recording of a show from Ireland and then a DVD from a show at the BBC. On top of that, several videos of his songs plus an interview. Living in the U.S., it was a great purchase because now I was able to see this great muscian at work. I look forward to his future work and and believe many others will to once this listen ...
