I have to say this is a very good album, I can see why it has beaten her sister's (Jessica Simpson) album successes as Ashlee appeals more to teens! "Pieces of Me" was a smart move and it shows that she is actually a very good singer but some people just put her down because she had one little lip syncing incident but she still sings in her own songs. Nowadays she has learned from that SNL incident and she sings live more often. "La La" also has to be the best attempts at a rock/pop song from a teen singer as it is really full of energy and has you singing along! All and all, great album!

I love this album, my husband loves it and my sons love it. Big Band/Rockabilly/swing - alternative Christmas music that really lifts the spirits. Why am I reviewing this in September? I'm not sure, but if you're starting to think ahead to the festive season, then give this a try. Excellent instrumentals and great vocals. Favourite track - Mr Heatmiser.

This anniversary issue of Steve Miller's 1976 album is well worth getting, even if you have the original. The first cd comes with some bonus tracks worth hearing and the acompanying DVD includes a short documentary with interviews with Steve about the album. a 5:1 surround mix of the album and, best of all, a 2 hour concert. This is only the second Steve Miller concert that has ever appeared and, even though it's taken from the in-concert video display, it's excellent quality and presents some amazing music, covering rock, blues, a little jazz and a 20 minute version of "Fly like an eagle". If you're a fan, you need this!

After hearing an overtly eccentric daring bass fuled "The World outside" i was enraptured. The listener is met by jarred jagged melodious place dynamically beside those of a more traditional rock/punk outfit. There are certain links to Disorder by Joy Division, with the blaring ballsy bass slapping you repeatedly with a wet yet several days old haddock. The same sense is repeated here and joyously so. On saying that it is a rather hard album to get into since the technical differentiations in each song are few and far between, the same dissonant techniques are reused, but whose to say that is a bad thing it works. This is another album from the hugely talented Andrew Roachford.I have all of his albums and have followed his work religiously since he first broke onto the scene back in the late 1980's.As other people have said, he is most famous for his breakthrough single, Cuddly Toy, from his self-titled first album. Since then he really hasn't had the kind of recognition he deserves - this man has one of the best voices you will ever hear, and i have had the privilege of going to see him in concert. On stage he is utterly awesome.His voice is as good live, as on his Cd's and there aren't many artists who i can honestly say are that good. There are few words that can adequately describe the indefinable Geto Boys. 'Emotive', 'raw' and 'dedicated' are but three words which I'd use when addressing the group as a whole. Unfortunately, these synonyms seem only partially applicable when describing 'The Foundation'. The album is the first time the Geto Boys (complete with Rap-a-Lot head Lil' J) have all come together on a recording since 1996. So 'The Foundation' is essentially a reunion record, and with it come the problems of any 'get-back-together' joint, especially when the nine years in between have been filled with a certain two members of the groups releasing questionable material.
