This is a superb collection Lizzies material including the rise and fall of the band from the raw early recordings of the three peice band in the early days, the early stiff with Robertson and Gorham, the rich seam they then hit in the mid 70's, Moores addition, snowy white years and the re-invigorated input final album stuff from John sykes. This covers the 4 discs and the 4th disc also includes the fading away talent of Phil Lynott with sparks of brilliance still peaking through on Military man, and out in the fields with a sad state of affairs from the sisters of mercy track which cannot hide the state of Phil Lynott in the autumn months of his life. This is an awesome collection of great smooth jazz records, perfect for any occasion, with all the greats included... If you're looking for lyrics and short numbers you will be out of luck but if you want Jazz at its best to relax to at any time this CD is for you. With 48 songs and at 3 hours 50 minutes it's hardly a short listen, but it will offer you an introduction to all the top performers and at Amazon's price its a steal. I would recommend this to all new comers to jazz and people who are looking for a collection filled with great numbers for relaxing to after a hard day. All in all this is an immense collection and if you like jazz you really can't go wrong, strongly recommended!

These CDs are a marvelous and representative collection of Schubert's works; while it does not claim to be a "complete" collection, it's the closest thing I've found on the market and with the exception of some incomplete (early)quartets, it wants for nothing. All the major works are brilliantly played, excellent Trout quintet, "Death of a Maiden" quartet, and some lesser known sonatinas as well as lovely Appegione sonata, to name just the most played. A huge bulk if not all, of his Leider and Masses and piano sonatas are also included. In general, there are about 2/3 orchestral/concerto/sonata works and 1/3 choral/vocal works (this is not an exact number as I don't have the box with me). Both the other reviews are, in part correct. Disc One is a re-issued Greatest Hits with some extra tracks (in admittedly, better sound quality than previous releases). Disc Two is the unreleased 'Sweet Revenge' LP which is most of the last Gen X LP 'Kiss Me Deadly' but roughly mixed and all different versions, together with more unreleased tracks. This disc is rounded off with a cover of the old 1966 Bowie track (wrongly credited to Idol/James!), 'I Dig Everything', a great mix of 'Dancing With Myself' and a new (ish) interview with Tony James (revealing fascinating insights to the bands history). Finally, Disc 3 is the live album, in excellent sound quality and a long and varied show. The only grumbles I have with this set are the sloppy credit details ... Read More:
