Adopting the usual Baby Einstein "plinky-plonky" approach to the classics, this CD is now banned from our car for long distance travel. The kids might enjoy it, I don't know for sure though as I get a more positive reaction to the new James Morrison CD than I do to this. When trying to deal with the stresses of motorway travel, this CD will probably hinder and not help when trying to remain calm.

This CD is hideous! It is like listening to the worst of Classic FM. Original music turned into 'soft focus slush'. They haven't even kept the original rhythm of the music. Had I had any inkling that it would be like this I wouldn't have bought it.

My 2 year old daughter loves this CD. She requests it when we get in the car, well I say request - she keeps going on about having "Bob on"! Every time a track finishes she says "more Bob"!. The first two tracks are the two which were released as singles a few years ago, and they did quite well with the first one being a Christmas number 1 if I remember correctly. She has a few kids music CDs, and to be honest, this is the best one. She has a Disney one but the sound seems tinny and quiet, whereas it is crystal clear on the Bob the Builder album. You don't wince when you know this CD is going to go on as it doesn't take itself seriously, and most of the tracks are well performed. I must admit though ... Read More:

I bought this just to have on in the background at my sons pirate themed party and it was great, also used it for the games; pass the parcel, etc. We probably wouldn't listen to it again but for a party it's perfect.

The Butterfly Ball is a child of it's time. A concept album based around the themes of love, peace and understanding. The main story is that all the animals in the forest are trying to work out a way that they can all live together, culminating in them all getting it together at the Butterfly Ball and Grasshopper Feast to celebrate their cultures and diversity. It all sounds very 1974! But the music certainly doesn't sound dated like many of its concept album contemporaries of the day, and the themes are as relevant now as they have always been. The songs were all based on the beautiful illustrations from the 'Butterfly Ball' by Alan Aldridge, first published in 1973. A film was muted, though only a promotional film for 'Love Is All' ...
