A little jewel of a film! This movie was released with not much fanfare in 1983, but has developed a loyal following in the U.S. due to it's repeated airing on cable television. Such is it's cult following, that American cable network TBS regularly hosts a "Christmas Story Marathon" during which the film is shown for 24 hours straight, from Christmas Eve to Christmas Day! I moved to Ireland from America 6 years ago, and have searched in vain for this film to appear on the Christmas schedule of RTE, BBC, Sky or any of the other 500 channels on my system. This is a wonderful christmas however old you are! It is my son's first christmas this year, and I have just bought this to read to him, as he loves having stories read to him. I have both the Snowman and Father Christmas in this format, and the gorgeous pictures taken directly from the film are beautiful, and the words are fantastic, and it is so easy to read. Any child will love having this lovely christmas tale read to them, and I am sure parents will adore reading it to their little ones, watching their faces when they hear about what Father Christmas gets up to on Christmas Eve!
