Okay I admit I am somewhat of A Bat-Fan. So the purchase of this album was I guess inevitable! However, I was surprised to find within quality superstars, like U2, Seal, The Offspring, and The Flaming Lips. The cd in all is a great compilation album, even if you are a fan of the movie or not, I would recommend buying it. It¡¦s the only place you will find the Flaming Lips song Bad Days, which is worth the price of the cd on its own. Its brilliant!

There's good news and there's good news. After 10 minutes of track 1, Lullaby, my one-month-old was fast asleep. As it played on, she continued to rest peacefully at a time when she would normally have been one alert little munchkin. And now for the other good news: This is a fantastic recording, and an important one for music lovers and musicologists. Having been recording in 1962/3, this sounds extraordinarily sophisticated (in a mellow, analogue "soothing" way). It sounds as if it could have been made today, and put out on Warp Records. This is a brilliant album. Right from the first track it has you on an emotional and musical roller coaster. As well as the haunting lyrics and music from the familiar The Fray and Snow Patrol, it introduced me to new groups and artists. Tunes from Metric and Ursula 1000 make you want to jump up and down and shout, whilst the calming voice of Anya Marina and Foy Vance bring you back down to a mellow level. Each song compliments the next, and whilst I own 100's cd's, this is nearly always one of the ones I turn to on a regular basis.

Unlike some classical recordings, the orchestra doesn't overpower the choir in this one. This is especially important when there is a children's choir involved. The Mass of the Children is a beautiful piece - fans of Rutter will not be disappointed.
