This is a great CD, obviously for Christmas. But whatever you do...DON'T PUT IT ON REPEAT! You will soon go insane having this on repeat, unless you love Christmas songs. We bought this to put in a jukebox over Christmas, and it was constantly on! Its good if you are having family round, as maybe background music, but loudly, it would drive you insane...

My son is 5 and an avid viewer of many CBeebies shows. This CD is an absolute gem and gets played at every opportunity.

It's great for a singalong, and inclusion of the lyrics would have been the icing on the cake. Still, can't be faulted.

When is the next edition coming out?

A little jewel of a film! This movie was released with not much fanfare in 1983, but has developed a loyal following in the U.S. due to it's repeated airing on cable television. Such is it's cult following, that American cable network TBS regularly hosts a "Christmas Story Marathon" during which the film is shown for 24 hours straight, from Christmas Eve to Christmas Day! I moved to Ireland from America 6 years ago, and have searched in vain for this film to appear on the Christmas schedule of RTE, BBC, Sky or any of the other 500 channels on my system. Sadly "A Christmas Story" is virtually unheard of on this side of the Atlantic, and I soon realised that I would probably never see it again, unless I bought it myself.

If you enjoy Reggie then you would feel that this album would offer you the excellence in Christmas music.
It started with dreary renditions of several much loved carols.
The casio keyboard music effect did nothing to enhance it.
Further along the album at Track 16 there starts to be a big improvement and I would say to buy it for this part alone!

As a true Waltons fan I thought it my duty to purchase this DVD and so I recently did. One cannot help but make comparisons between the 'original' cast and the 'actual' cast in the series. Apart from the children and grandma Walton all characters are different and because the series' characters have had so much stronger presence the 'original' cast does not stand much of a chance of winning anyone over. The Baldwin sisters in this film look much more like sisters but one gets the feeling that they are less endearing.
Olivia in this film seems almost like a 'psycho', I am sorry if this seems harsh but at one stage John-boy appears almost frightened of her as she seems to be losing it. I wonder how she got through the original casting or perhaps the series' ... Read More:

Nasty-pasty Simeon Lee, a cackling old ogre, gathers his family around him on Christmas Eve to poke them with a stick. Before long nasty Mr Lee is lying on his hearth rug with his throat viciously slit from ear to ear. Whodunnit? Was it one of his 'namby-pamby' sons? One of their wives? His Spanish grand-daughter, Pilar? One of the servants? Or was it the unexpected guest, Mr Farr? Hercule Poirot is close by and on hand to assist Superintendent Sugden to investigate the crime.

Hercule Poirot's Christmas is from Agatha Christie's classic period and is one of her famous family / house-party mysteries. To most people this is a great recommendation, however these housebound mysteries are not among my favourites - they usually come across a bit too insular ... Read More:
