Have got the original vinyl complete with scratches (Played to death every Christmas!!!)At Last have found it on CD, brilliant quality. It just ain't Christmas without Max. It comes out on the first of December every year. Bought Two, one for me and one for my daughter who loves it just as much as I do. Thank you Amazon

Christmas carols are usually sung in angelic, high voices, preferably by children. Not these. CTD singer's baritone gives a very unusual, but highly entertaining, somtimes solemn, sometimes genuinely funny twist to these yuletide classics. It may not be everyone's cuppa, but if you acquire the taste, you're in for a real treat.

This is the sixth in the series of special Christmas albums dedicated to raising money for the Special Olympics, but this one is very different from previous albums that generally featured pop and rock music. This album, as its title suggests, features acoustic country and bluegrass music. As far as I know, all the recordings are new although some of the artists have recorded their chosen songs previously. Many of the songs here will be familiar to you but the simple acoustic settings featured here allow the singers to bring out the true meaning of each song The set opens with Reba singing a great version of Silent night. My first thought when I heard Amy Grant was releasing a best of Christmas CD was "Why?" But I quickly thought about the artists who release best of's after three regular releases. And Amy's oldest Christmas release was in 1983, so my question became "Why not?" And, suddenly, I found myself first in line to buy it the day it came out. Now keep in mind that I love Amy's first two Christmas releases and enjoy the third. There was no way I was seriously going to miss this. The CD is made up of 18 tracks, four of which are new. The disc opens with "Jingle Bells." Now this isn't your normal version but the version made famous by Barbra Streisand on her first Christmas album 40 years ago.
