This album marked a change for Rush and the world in general as we moved into the '80's. I wasn't a fan at first after being brought up on 2112 and Hemispheres, but the years have mellowed me. I think it is probably the last Album that Rush made that I can still listen to after nearly 30 years. When Signals came out in '82 I nearly cried. Buy it and reminisce over simpler times...

One of the most influential releases ever to grace the world of popular music, its effects shaped the course of Glam Rock, Punk, Goth, New Romantics, Indie and no doubt music which is not very good. It's a truly special album, which deserves its hype amongst music critics and fans alike. Released in 1967 on The Verve Record Label, The Velvet Underground and Nico really does stand out from the other albums recorded during 1966/67. I had the vinyl version of this album. It is by far the best Rolling Stones collection on the market. This CD release is no disappointment. The sound quality is superb. I can add little to other reviews, with one exception. This was the only place that I knew the stereo version of "Paint it Black" to be. I can confirm that this reissue still has the "Paint it Black" track in stereo, which was a major reason for me buying this collection for another time. I agree with a previous reviewer who says that this is a much better collection than "Hot Rocks." This is a much better collection and better sound quality.

This was the first Fleetwood Mac album I ever heard as a child, and I instantly loved all the songs on it. Some I didn't really understand untill I was older but I still like this ablum best. So I was shocked when I got hold of 'Rumours' and hated most of the song's on it. So I guess each album is different, enticing different people with different music tastes. Always try to hear the music before buying, that way you wont be dissappointed.

I keep on coming back to some of the tracks on this album, and yes, I did buy it on shiny black vinyl when it came out in the late sixties. For me, some kinda love, pale blue eyes, and what goes on are the standout tracks, but, it has to be said, there's not one duffer on the album. Best of all, it sounds as good today as it did back in sixty nine. An absolute classic gem of soft but weird rock, beautifully produced and recorded, and showcasing Lou Reed's song writing at its best. Buy it and enjoy! This is one of the best albums of all time, and truly seminal in the way it influenced rock music from then on.

This is one of the few albums that can be classed as a masterpiece. From the perfectly crafted album opener 'I Looked Away' to the evocative 'Bell Bottom Blues', the powerful blues of 'Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out' to the great riff on 'Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad', the masterly Hendrix cover 'Little Wing' and of course the song that never loses it's power 'Layla', this album has so many gems and brilliant tracks it is hard to know where to begin. 'Layla' sounds so powerful, especially sitting amidst the other tracks on this album, and on reflection it really does adhere to the 'timeless' label heaped on lesser songs. Great ! Superb ! Fantastic ! I agree that picture could have been better, but music overcomes it all ! Something not seen. We in Croatia would say "prava festa" (true fiesta) for all of people in the venue: the musitians and the audience, and therefore all the people who watch it on DVD.... Really must have DVD.

The mix of music is perfect.Lulu was great and loved Valantine moon. Gave as christmas presents all round.

Yes! Around 28 years after this album was released, Rush have never been able to excel the half-dozen songs found on this album, at least in my eyes. The half-dozen songs ensconced within this CD personally rank as classics of the genre, with the trio's musical skills being at their peak. It essentially serves as a conduit between the excellent, but ridiculously overblown Hemispheres and the album that really marked their overture towards the mainstream, the seminal Moving Pictures. Without making a detailed track-by-track analysis, I'll safely say that The Spirit of Radio and Freewill are deserved stalwarts of the classic-rock world. When this album was relesed in 97, all i listened to was Oasis and i was expecting this album to be even better than morning glory..however..back then i was bitterly dissapointed with it, as it didnt live up to my expectations. But 11 yrs on and after hearing the new stuff that oasis has brought out..this album is a classic! i still remember all the words after all this time..whereas no other oasis album since has had that impact on me. This is also the album that gave us 'Stand By Me'-possibly the best oasis song ever made, apart from 'Slide Away' and 'Whatever' of course!! Enjoy this album...as i fear that oasis will never be able to repeat what they had going on here!
