Lock, stock and 2 smoking barrels is a crime tale about a group of friends from London who happen to lose a game of poker, they end up in a lot of debt thus having to get out of it. The story takes many twists & turns and will also make you laugh as it has a very good use of wry & dark humor. The plot evolves around one man but there are many characters who share as if not more an important role. The star of the show in this movie is Vinnie Jones who acts brilliantly. I recomed 'Snatch' If you like this.

This is an album which captures a performer at the absolute zenith of his achievement. Morrsion is in complete control of a large and highly competent band and milks his power to the nth degree, changing pace at will and spontaneously with a flick of his hand behind his back as he growls his invocation to soul in a way he has never bettered. There are great cover versions given the celtic soul treatment, such as "Bring It All On Home" and "I Just Wanna Make Love To You". Alongside sit magnificent, innovatory treatments of Morrison classics such as "Into The Mystic", "St. Dominic's Preview" and a simply stunning version of "Caravan", embellished by sumptuous saxophone from Jack Schroer and vibrant, beautiful violin from Nathan Ribble. There are so many great tracks on this album that this could easily be a best of! The unplugged format is perfect for Neil Young and really shows his songs off in their best light and his voice goes just perfectly with acoustic guitar. This is where I began my love of Neil Young and I really believe it is a great starting point in his music and style before delving deeper into his other albums. A great album.

This was the first Santana album that I bought, and I wasn't disappointed. The songs "Smooth", "Put Your Lights On" and "Maria Maria" are among the best songs I've ever heard and for some reason make me feel much happier after I hear them! But seriously, this is a great album, and a brilliant place to start out when buying a bit of the ol' Carlos magic.

A mate emailed me a copy of of Ooh La La about a year before we headed down to play cricket at the Alice Springs Masters Games, with the message "How good would this be for a team Walk-Out song?" The two Ronnies (Lane & Wood) probably never imagined when they penned it that a bunch of Aussie "old-fart" cricketers would proudly stride out to the middle with this brilliant song echoing around the MacDonald ranges in the central Australian outback! So on the strength of one song; incidentally sung by Ronnie Wood and not Ronnie Lane or Rod Stewart; I bought this album. Yes, I'd heard a few tracks back in the 70's by the band and recognized a few track names on the site, but to be honest I only bought it because the compilation box-set of "Red Dwarf" was on special at the same time. When it was released, it was a must buy for all punks, as was the Sex Pistols. Oh how much better this has lasted than the Pistols. I prefer the original UK version, probably because it's so familiar. I bought all the singles so I got all the A and B sides of the early stuff anyway. I still play this album now, as with nearly all albums not all the tracks are 100% fantastic. Even so, the not so hot, don't last long (most of songs except Police and Thieves) don't go on. I never felt the need to get up and move the stylus on my record player and "skip" tracks. All in all, with hindsight this one of 1977s best albums, from a creative duo of Strummer and Jones who showed some classic writing skills. A milestone for rock music and well worth adding to your collection if you like that sound.
