It was the beginning of a new decade and, as Dickens wrote "it was best of times, it was the worst of times," CSN&Y has made it clear there would no more "Deja Vu"s and it was impossible not to be sad as having such stunning encounter of four songwriting talents stop their four-way magic at one single album. And then there were four solo beauties -except for Young's "After the Gold Rush," first albums for Crosby, Nash and Stills- that returned a smile to many of our grieving faces. Although if compared to his feuding amigos I would not rate Stephen Still first solo recording the best of all four, there's nothing here that could not be considered absolutely impeccable. This was the first Santana album that I bought, and I wasn't disappointed. The songs "Smooth", "Put Your Lights On" and "Maria Maria" are among the best songs I've ever heard and for some reason make me feel much happier after I hear them! But seriously, this is a great album, and a brilliant place to start out when buying a bit of the ol' Carlos magic.

A mate emailed me a copy of of Ooh La La about a year before we headed down to play cricket at the Alice Springs Masters Games, with the message "How good would this be for a team Walk-Out song?" The two Ronnies (Lane & Wood) probably never imagined when they penned it that a bunch of Aussie "old-fart" cricketers would proudly stride out to the middle with this brilliant song echoing around the MacDonald ranges in the central Australian outback! So on the strength of one song; incidentally sung by Ronnie Wood and not Ronnie Lane or Rod Stewart; I bought this album. When it was released, it was a must buy for all punks, as was the Sex Pistols. Oh how much better this has lasted than the Pistols. I prefer the original UK version, probably because it's so familiar. I bought all the singles so I got all the A and B sides of the early stuff anyway. I still play this album now, as with nearly all albums not all the tracks are 100% fantastic. Even so, the not so hot, don't last long (most of songs except Police and Thieves) don't go on. I never felt the need to get up and move the stylus on my record player and "skip" tracks. All in all, with hindsight this one of 1977s best albums, from a creative duo of Strummer and Jones who showed some classic writing skills. 3 CDs Led Zeppelin live in pristine sound quality is a dream come true. This is vintage and true Page-Plant-Jones-Bonham. CD 1 proves it all. CDs 2 and 3 show indeed why punk treated them as dinosaurs: over-indulgent, boring, too long versions alternate with a few gems (Dancing days, Rock 'n' roll). These and all the CD 1 tracks could have made a world class single live album.

even though it was stated as new release for 2008 Deep Purple's best of is merely the same compilation that was released ten years ago as i came across it in co-op so don't be fooled by the release date as there is nothing new on this dissappointing best of.

As Music fan I didn't know any Information about Marc Bolan Until 2004 when I've seen him on VH1,I told my Friends who's this artist? where's he from?,if I colud say anything else about T.Rex I'll say they're the most talent band in last Century along with Beatles,this Collection for what you locking for about T.rex.

Steve Miller was one of the highlights of any school or Uni disco in the mid to late seventies for us rockers. All the classics and more - they sound as good now as they did then - smooth production, great rhythm, and a back beat to make you boogie. Turn up the volume and tear up the carpet.

The soundtrack of Forrest Gump certainly lives up to the reputation of the fantastic film which is also blessed with several Oscars. All the classic rock from the 1950s through the hippy 70s and on to the 80s is brought to life through a dual-cd album also featuring the soundtrack to the movie. Truly the greatest collection of songs ever to be burned onto the shiny discs. A must buy for the fans of every type of music!

This is a strange compilation to be released in 2005 as it covers just four albums – Crosby Stills & Nash (1969), Déjà Vu (1970), CSN (1977) and Daylight Again (1982) – and none of the trio’s more recent work. Some might say that this is no bad thing when considering that this single disc includes no less than seven of the 10 songs from CSN’s classic, eponymous debut LP. The one thing that everyone will say about Crosby Stills & Nash is how superb their harmonies are. Listening carefully to perfect examples such as Helplessly Hoping and Guinevere, it’s quite astounding to realise that the only musical backing to the choir of voices are one or two exquisite guitar parts.
