Yes...this is easily one of the most seminal and perfectly concieved albums of all time. If you have read the other reviews you should have ordered your copy by now. I'll add my tuppence by saying that personally I feel there's moments on this album that scratch the surface of divinity itself. perfect.

With a back catalogue the envy of most, a 3CD retrospective was always going to be difficult for Springsteen. Imagine how difficult it would be now though? - there's at least three stone cold classics on 'Devils and Dust' plus several from the Seeger Sessions experience that would all have to somehow fit on any new Springsteen 'essential'. What we do get, however, are some of the finest pieces of music ever committed to record. 'Jungleland', both 'Born...' songs, the thrilling 'Badlands' and the great 'Land of Hope and Dreams' are among the many highlights, while 'None but the brave' demonstrates just how much greater the Born in the USA album could have been (he left 'Frankie, 'My love will not let you down' 'Cynthia', and 'This hard land' off that album, ... If you have a casual fondness for The Clash then maybe best not to bother with this. However, if like me you think The Clash are the greatest band of all time then you simply must own this - ignore the bad reviews you will see! Sure, there are a few songs on here that you will listen to once or twice and probably never again, but there is an albums worth of around 20 excellent songs on here that any serious Clash fan must own. If you are just getting into The Clash however, you would be better buying the debut album, give em enough rope and London Calling first - as this could scare you off!

This album is an enjoyable experience from start to finish, the song writing is incredible.

These songs alone would have made Eliminator one of ZZ Top's three greatest albums,their embrace of Rock-synths and sequencers make this a blockbuster filled with hits & pure Energy.It's still an excellent ZZ Top album,whether Fans or blues purists alike believe it or not,definitely one of their best,thanks in part to their unflaggingly accurate grooves & timing.Then again, that's part of the album's charm,this is new wave blues-rock,looking as good as the omnipresent convertible on the cover,not really the sort of old-school album blues-rock purists will love or appreciate,But one heck of a fun groove-licious album to rock your sound system to

A collection of songs from one of the USA'S most underated bands. Apart from a few personal choices, the ommision of Day and Night is a major error. That said if you want a broad look at Little Feat this album will satisfy your curiosity. Llowell George slide guitar hits the spot and the rythmn section holds everything together. They deserved more fame than they got and on a good night there was no better live band around.

The Modern Lovers' eponymous debut was actually recorded in the early 1970s, making it one of the key proto-punk works - though officially it wasn't released until 1976. Its influence would be apparent on those that followed- The Sex Pistols would cover 'Roadrunner', Siouxsie & the Banshees would use it as a marker for the drum-sound of their debut LP 'The Scream' & the organ-heavy-tight-sound would be apparent on such acts as The Fall, The Blue Orchids & The Teardrop Explodes. I am surprised this album doesn't have more reviews on here - or that it doesn't make those endless best of lists alongside Revolver, OK Computer and the other usual suspects... This is a real music lover's album. An Original, eclectic mix of bluesy, rocksy, folksy, jazzy tunes. At the time of performing some of the tracks Buffalo Springfield were playing at the Whisky in LA's Sunset Strip during its golden age when Jefferson Airplane and The Doors were sharing top billing (for a time Jim Morrison was obsessed with Mr Soul Man, written in response to police brutality in LA, singing it everywhere he went). In fact the band's obvious eclecticism on this album is probably more easily understood in comparison to these bands rather than the folk-rock tradition of which this album forms an inevitable part.Made at a time when the first wave of sixties bands had enjoyed their first flush and people were looking for something different this is a chance to hear the origins ... It`s so horrible to think of Lynyrd Skynyrd recording a Christmas album like they did in 2000. Ronnie, Allen and Steve must have been spinning in their graves. The fact is, and I saw the reformed 1991-version and bought the albums from that time too, that in 1977 these guys were dangerously close to world domination...they had just released the incredible "Street Survivors", which suggested the addition of Steve Gaines would add a another dimension, and also their world tour had left fans worldwide gasping for more. The band consumed so many drugs and so much alcohol that it`s a wonder they ever made it to the stage, but they did, and they were on cracking form at the Fox Theatre back in `76.
