It would be churlish to criticize "Greatest Hits", as it's the classic compilation, and the best possible 40-odd minute introduction to the duo's work. On the face of it, everything's here. Plus this is an of-the-time release, one you or your parents probably owned way-back-when, and even the cover can bring on pangs of nostalgia. It's still a superb listen and, even if like me you own all the original albums, it's something that is always first to get in the player. Sometimes I don't even stop it before "Cecilia" -- and not just because I'm not quick enough having been lulled into a pleasurable stupor by the "Bookends" coda. BUT this is what you must know. I watched Dirty Dancing about 2 weeks ago and fell in love with it. I loved the music most of all so bought this soundtrack. But then I noticed Ultimate Dirty Dancing, which is cheaper on Amazon and has all of the songs in Dirty Dancing! This one has about 12. Rubbish.

I wanted this as soon as I saw it advertised on the TV, it is good to listen to and it is worth buying but as usual the best tracks are played on the TV advert, I enjoy the colaboration with Stray Cats and I have played the album more than once but I can't get too enthusiastic about it, overall it's ok.

Just to get more precise about figures: BIA was certified 9 times platinum in the US alone (without counting Canada or latin America), which means it sold 9 million there. It sold over 14 million in Europe. (with 4 million in the UK alone - certified in 2000, 2 million+ in France, certified in 1994!) These figures don't include those of Australia, Japan, the African continent, Russia, the East Countries, Arab countires, Israel... Remark that these figures approximately date back to 1999-2000. No update has been made since then. They may well have evolved as a consequence. Nowadays critical consensus often ranks this as The Beatles' best album, and indeed one of the best albums ever made. While it's only my second favourite by them personally (The White Album being first), this is still one of the greatest albums I own. Revolver is the point where The Beatles ceased to be a pop group and became something else entirely. Shortly after its release they gave up touring, having tired of performing to screaming fans when they'd much rather be holed away in a recording studio making new music. This also allowed them to be more experimental, recording sounds that could never have been recreated in stadiums and arenas at the time. I have been a fan for many years and own this album already on vinyl and cd.It is one of the classic albums of all time and I play it regularly,but this is no different in sound to any other format I have.If your going to sell it as something different you would at least expect SACD or DVD audio.

with such a mass of material to choose from,it is difficult for any record label to put together a 'good' collection that shows the entire range of Elvis' great songs but this goes a long way toward it. Well worth the place on the shelf.

I can rant about how beautiful Gary Sinise is another day, but now, this is all about The Who. The Who. Who are they you migh ask. Who are The Who? How can you answer a quistion like that... They are maybe the best British band ever. They are unique. Sensational, brillaint and have fancy hair. (Not pointing at anyone, Roger. XD) If I ever met someone named Baba O'Riely, i'd tell her to stop crying, we all live in a Teenage Wasteland anyway... And The Who made that Teenage Wasteland a better place...
