The fact that it is over20 years old is testament to the fact this is still selling strong. This is one of my favourite albums of all time, and permenantly stays in the car for periodic stress relief and pleasure time. The album encompasses a variety of music styles and includes the legendary 'You can call me Al'. This has to be one of the all time great tracks. Not only that, this album was responsible for the popularity of Lady Blacksmith Mambazo due to their involvement in the album and tracks such as 'Homeless'. For me this is a must have album, for the simple fact it has tap along tracks along with tracks that calm your soul.

This is one of the better places to go to start listening to the music of Journey. You get a good selection of tracks, which covers their most well known songs and a few others for good measure. The booklet folds out into a poster and the artwork is great. From tracks like 'Don't stop believing' to 'Who's crying now' you know you're on familiar ground and if you like 70's and 80's rock you can't really go wrong. If you want an introduction to this classic rock band then this is the place to go.

Just a quick review here. Although the music on here is fantastic and as eclectic as you could hope for I was under the impression (maybe I missed something) that the tracks would include the introductions by the man himslef. However, the intros come in a separate booklet and are NOT on the CD. As I said, a great CD but just be warned that this is not the actual shows themselves. Cheers!

The Masterplan is a B-Sides compilation full of great songs.There is an argument,in fact, for saying this is one of the very best Oasis albums. Certainly one of the most consistent. I think it's fair to say that it's time for another one-containing D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman,Round Are Way,Carry Us All,Cigarettes In Hell,Let's All Make Believe,etc...

10CC were huge in the mid to late 70's. Much like contemporaries ELO they were often overlooked by the more hybrow critics and dismissed as merely Beatles wannabe's. Whilst the Beatle comparisons cannot be denied messers, Godley, Creme, Gouldman and Stewart were an entirely more exciting prospect than Jeff Lynne's mob. Lyrically erudite, musically inventive and all four band members possesed of great voices, 10cc peddled harmony drenched, hugely inventive powerpop and retro rock. At their best they were sublime - 'I'm Mandy, Fly Me', 'Life Is A Minestroni' and 'Rubber Bullets'. 'I'm Not In Love' may have been dulled by massive over exposure but it's still a great ballad and more than deserved it's number 1 position on both sides of the Atlantic. Read More:

The truth is, all of The Door's albums are worth owning and because each album was so different in style, it is important to purchase each one seperately to understand the true artistic diversity of the band. However in terms of packaging and tracklisting, this is the best compilation ever. The 40th anniversary remixes have noticible clarity over the previous CD releases, although it is disc 2 that sees some of the most noticable improvements. Love her madly and hello I love you are subtly different as are riders on on the storm and others although it is these former two that are superior through enchancement. The running order on the first disc is little different from the previous best of, but disc 2 is nicely balanced with all the up-tempo pop of "the soft parade" ... Read More:

In the states at the moment so have managed to pick this up early. Tom Waits songs really suit Southsides delivery and La Bamba's arrangements do not dissapoint. Tom Waits duets on wlak away and this is a standout. Highly recommend to Southside and Tom Waits fans.

I'm probably going to enrage a few readers, but what a very poor album this is. And i'm not saying that because i'm any kind of champion of military intervention. The message is wholly laudable, but i found this album to be unbelievably..........lame. Neil's got a whole load of friends to help out on choir duties, and it sounds very amateurish. I almost regret having wasted the time on giving it a spin. (Sorry if i've caused offence to any big fans of this piece of work.)

I had the pleasure of seeing Neil Young live in Kent last weekend. It was great to see he is still on tremendous form after all these years. With a catalogue of about thirty albums it is difficult for newcomers to his work to know where to start their collection, but this compilation covers a lot of his best known music. In fact according to the man himself it was compiled according to sales of the songs, airplay and known download history which gives the track selection credibility.
