my personal Zep favourite....and then you get the rest of this excellent double album for free, what a bargain!!! I bought the original vinyl on the day of release and even now, over 30 years on, I still pick it out of the rack (now on cd) anytime I require a blast of musical genius.

Along with Kind of Blue (Miles Davis), Follow the Reaper (Children of Bodom), and Clapton's CD with the Bluesbreakers, this is the best album ever. You should already own this. Seriously. The songs are all completely different, not a single filler track!

This is a bloody disappointing album. I bought this thinking it was going to capture the full on raw power of AC/DC but it totally fails. The biggest problem is that unlike the majority of live albums that are edited to flow like a proper gig, this mess sees each track fade in and out so that the energy and excitement one expects never materialises. It simply fails to gel at all and just becomes totally boring. Why was this done? It is for radio idiot DJ's who are incapable of cueing up a track? Oh yes, and Brian Johnson can't sing either. A truly horrible experience. Stick to "If You Want Blood...".

for all you young metal fans , who ever wondered, "where did metal come from, when did it begin" well you are now looking at the very first album of heavy metal, some people will tell you, that metal was made by led zepplin, the kinks, jimmy hendrix or other mere hard rock bands of teh 60's but they are wrong. go ahead, listen to a whole lotta love, then listen to the track black sabbath on this cd, and see the difference. this is were metal started, if you dont believe this review then see teh documentary "heavy, teh story of metal" buy this if you love metal, the production is dated but teh music is timeless

I bought this album as a teenager in the 70's and never felt it was one of zeps greatest albums compared to Physical Graffiti and vol4 so unfortunately it was the last of the remasters that I bought. Having listened to it a couple of times it has quickly become one of my favourates. Its understated beauty really hit me and touched me particularly "tangerine" and the really beautiful "thats the way". Pity the packaging doesnt reflect the curiosity of the original LP cover. Buy it and enjoy!

I first heard this album back in the summer of 1982 and it sounds as good now as it did then. I was already familiar with For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) and I'd heard bits of Highway to Hell and Back in Black but this was what converted me. The songs on this album are infantile, puerile, barely adolescent... and absolutely brilliant. From the crash-bang-thump intro to the swaggering title track to the fade out at the end of the distinctly sleazy and tasteless Squealer this is pure, unbridled rock'n'roll joy. The album is full to the brim with classic tracks: the sleazy Love at First Feel, the behind-the-bike-shed single-entendre-laden Big Balls, Rocker and Problem Child ("...and my mother hates me!") coming on like Chuck Berry's lovechild being ... Yep, Aerosmith have released many many greatest hits albums. I think this one has the best mixture of tracks of the lot though, a range of all their hits starting from way back. Some fantastic songs. Highly recommended if you've only heard a limited amount of Aerosmith music, as it'll give you the pick of the best of the rest, and you may well decide to look into their more obscure stuff.

I'm gonna keep this pretty short,in a nut shell this is the greatest rock album ever,riffs to blow you into the 22nd century,and beyound. Sounds as fantastic today as when it came out.

Def Leppard outsold many band of the 1980s, and this compliation of their best hits proves why. Hits from the early years of recording, like "Photograph" and "Rock of Ages" are within the compilation, and are complimented with the hits from their biggest selling album, "Hysteria", like "Animal", and "Rocket". Included also are some songs from their albums in the mid 1990s, like "When Love And Hate Collide", which scored highly in the UK charts. Of course, their biggest hit, "Pour Some Sugar on Me" is the first track, so that will definately get any listener going. The band itself produces absolutely brilliant music, and this album clarifies the imapct Def Leppard had on the music world. I would also call this a masterpiece.

Its probably fair to say that this is the one album that sits in just about every self respecting rock fans collection, whether they, like me, were knocking about on its original release, or for younger enthusiasts have bought it for its historical value. This mk2 version of Purple, benefiting from the addition of Ian Gillan's wonderful vocal range (my daughter calls him 'the voice') and Roger Glover's excellent bass and knowledge of musical arrangements, kicked off with an album that not only became the first example of genuine 'hard rock', but unlike some other bands also allowed the depth of their music to shine through. While not wishing to be critical of the albums contents, how can you knock the likes of 'child in time', 'hard lovin' man', 'speed king' etc or the prowess ... Read More:
