don't get me wrong this is a good kiss album BUT! it really was a big change in sound and direction! i was a big fan of kiss in the 80's crazy nights is still my favourite kiss album, then i was 15 when it came out so i missed the early stage of the band with the make up and all that,so for me kiss in 80's rocked.so back to revenge i was a little surprissed when i first heard it because it was so different to what i was used to,it was a lot darker in mood to say lick it up or hot in the shade records so it took some getting used to but after a few listens i did start to enjoy it more and more so what do i know? have a listen for youself and see what i meen rock on!

Crazy Nights is a brilliant album. After getting the Greatest hits album I decided they were great but after listening to this I decided they were fantastic.
The introduction of Bruce Kulick into Kiss a few years earlier was an excellent decision as there are many good guitar solos on this album.
Crazy Crazy Nights is the best song on the album with great vocals, lyrics and solo. I'll Fight Hell To Hold You is another great song. My Way uses a lot of synthesizer and sounds very cheesy and 80s but is still great nonetheless. Hell Or High Water has Gene Simmons on vocals and has many powerful, meaningful lyrics. Reason To Live and Turn On The Night are the other songs that stand out but all in all it's a really great album and I highly ... Read More:

I have rated this album for a very long time. In fact I bought the LP when it came out in '71. I cannot elaborate any further than the previous reviewers on how good it is, but was it the office junior at 'Remasters R Us' who did 'Guts' the first track? On the original LP it starts with a lead guitar intro, then joined by the drums and bass, increasing in sound level as it does so. On this remaster its a very loud intro, then when the drums and bass come in its like it hits an automatic recording level max. This quietens the lead guitar making the combined sound on the same sound level of the intro, and muffled. There is also some hiss on the start of track 4 N.d.p.w. Its a shame because the rest of the tracks sound good. I'm surprised this wasn't sorted out ... Read More:

It`s about time Diamond Head had this kind of collection. Although 1999`s "The best of Diamond Head" was a nice idea, it had a few flaws (namely nothing from the "Death and progress" album, cutting off the begining of "It`s electric" and using the "Borrowed time" versions of "Lightning to the nations" and "Am I evil?" when the "White album" recordings were definitive), and didn`t give a complete picture of the breadth of Diamond Head. This excellent double CD does. Like Hanoi Rocks or Rose Tattoo, Diamond Head`s influence and legend have never translated to fame or money. Listen to these songs, scratch your head and wonder why.

The songs are chronological, kicking off with selections from the "White album". "I am evil?", "Sucking my love", "Helpless" ... Read More:

La Derniere Séance - Paris 07.04.75

As a teenager in the 70's, my favourites were Yes, Led Zeppelin and Tangerine Dream. I only had the ubiquitous 'Made In Japan' on a cassette from a mate (replaced by the first CD pressing and subsequently the latest remastered double CD) and I never felt any inclination to buy (or even get illegal tapes) of any more, although I did eventually buy 'Made In Europe' in a sale. 'Made In Japan', supposedly best live album of the time was pretty good in the excitement stakes but always lost out in my mind to the subtlety and variations of Yessongs. So, 30+ years later, I have some disposable income and having enjoyed the MIJ remaster I came across the Paris 75 double CD, and remembering the excitement of 'Burn' from my long ... Read More:

The final of Alice's four early 80's "Electro New Wave" albums is by far and away the best of the four. Its funny, dark, twisted, and just plain weird. "Dada" Sets the scene in a perfect way. I don't know what the "sucking" noise on this track is supposed to be - a baby's dummy or something??
"Enough's Enough" is a classic piece of rebellion against a father. "Former Lee Warmer" a spooky tale of a deranged man locked in the attic by his brother. "No Mans Land" Contains some of The Coop's funniest lyrics ever. "Dyslexia" is a furiously bouncy song, and very catchy. "Scarlet And Sheba" is probably one of Alice's most raunchy songs ever - lyrically, and would not be lost on his more commercial "Trash" album.
"I Love America" is probably the albums worst song musically, ... Read More:

Everyone is saying how great this album is and that it's one of the best metal albums ever, well it's not. Granted it does have some kick ass tracks on Like Breaking The Law, Rapid Fire, Grinder & Metal Gods the i'd hardly call metal. After those tracks it just gets boring. Why is this hailed as a classic why. Do yourself a favour go away from this and buy a real classic which is The Number Of The Beast By Iron Maiden. UP THE IRONS

As you can see from this release's dull artwork and naff title, on the outside, this reissue has all the imagination and aesthetic appeal of a cold hamburger on a Monday morning. It's the kind of compilation you'd probably ignore in the rack of your local music emporium. "Gold" for God's sake!! So why review it - and should you give it the time of day? Because of what's contained on the "inside".

I've had various compilations throughout the years in order to have Steppenwolf tracks in my collection - both British and American issues - and some like 'The Beat Goes On' British 2CD set of the first two albums - are excellent. But they are all rendered redundant by this fantastic 2CD anthology. The difference lies in the STUNNING RE-MASTERED SOUND engineered by ERICK LABSON. This ... Read More:

200.We Sold Our Souls For Rock 'n' Roll by: Black Sabbath
January 26, 1998
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Music : We Sold Our Souls For Rock 'n' Roll
This album is definatly a must for anyone who has never heard Sabbath before and a must for all Sabbath heads, it's got most of their best tracks, like "Warpigs", "Black Sabbath" and "Paranoid" and it's definatly cheap for a double CD. The only other 2 songs I would've included would be "N.I.B" and "Symptom Of The Universe" Never the less, Buy it now.
