Theres no denying that there are far too many "Best of.."'s floating around with Shams name on them but this has to be the one with the finest track listing because you get the fantastic "Hersham Boys", "Hurry Up Harry" and "Borstal Breakout" aswell as many of Shams other best tracks. Along with this, the live recordings add abit of variety to the CD as does the cover of the Yardbirds , "A better man than I" which is not exactly the most punk song ever recorded but it shows Sham 69 as more than one trick ponies who can play as variey of different songs. CRASS were the only genuine ANARHO-PUNKS who actually lived the 'punk' ideal, operating completely independently from their EPPING FOREST safe-house. Pretty much maligned by critics and some fans,I reckon the album stands up pretty well.It's got the lot!Terrific chugga-chugga guitars on Bop 'til You Drop,choruses that are scorched on to your brain after one listen(check out A Real Cool Time,a Ramones gem)and a fabulous turn from Joey on Bye Bye Baby.Debbie Harry throws in a few "oooh ooohs" on Go Lil' Camara Go and Dee Dee belts out the frantic punker I Lost My Mind.A couple of tracks find the band on automatic pilot(notably I know Better Now and I'm Not Jesus)but let's face it,da Brudders on cruise control are head and shoulders above most bands!Play Loud!!

This is a truly superb Ramones box set of 3 CD's and one DVD, and whilst the music is at the forefront of every release by any band, (of course), the packaging, (considering how many elaborate box sets have been released to date), is exceptional, unique, and an absolute collector's piece in itself. The shape and size of the 'Annuals' most of us had at Christmas as kids, with nice thick board covers, when opened up, the discs are set out on the right, with a housing on the left for the 'comic book.' Inside the comic book, 25 top artists have drawn The Ramones Story in their own inimitable style, and this alone is a fabulous collector's piece, but there again, this package was released by Rhino Records, and as far as I'm concerned and in my ... For the group's tenth studio album, they decided to title their album `10'. Love the cover, but I agree with Hugh Cornwell that by now the group had seemed to have run out of steam. Where is the politically-correct bite? Where is the politically-incorrect bite? What happened to the cynicism of the system? Instead, most of the songs possess bland safe lyrics that any other bland safe pop group would be proud to possess. This is such a disappointment after the wonderful `Dreamtime' album. The only songs of note are "Sweet Smell Of Success" with its wicked congas and solo trumpet, the echo-rocker "96 Tears" and the harder-edged "Out Of My Mind". i have nothing to say really, after all this years, it remains iggy's most memorable album. it marks an opening of his new era, it showed hope and health in a natrual way. unlike instinct and blah, they are also healthy ones, but they are sythesised. this one contains a diversity of songs, fantastic performance. if you are lucky to see the show for this album, kiss my blood, it's more trhan great. he then changed his appearance, longer hairs. two best iggy;s own albums, brick and caeser.

The Dickies didn't do much worth commenting on after "Killer Klowns From Outer Space" but this is a throwback to their mad, silly and ridiculous lyrics of the past (or are they geniuses by disguising brilliant songs with weird lyrics?). Most of this album is worth listening to for Dickies fans so its hard to pick out certain songs. "Toxic Avenger" is one my favourites and "Just Say Yes," "Stuck in a Condo (With Marlon Brando)" and "Elevator" are also enjoyable listens. For die-hard Dickies fans of old then "Oh Boy" and "I'm on Crack" will have you up jumping around and playing air guitar for a few days after hearing them. By far the best SLF album since Nobody's Heroes, highly recommended. They have gone back to their roots and do what they do best, create fantastic foot stomping songs. There is also a fitting track dedicated to the late Joe Strummer a deserving tribute to a great man. All SLF fans will love this and anybody listening for the first time will probably rush out and buy their back catalogue too, and so you should. You won't be sorry.
