I once had Bensons'Greatest Hits and listened to the album over and over again..Then I gave it to a man I loved, cause he loved him aswell. That love is gone now, but my love for Mr.Benson is as srong as ever. This cd holds all the songs I've once had,eccept one(Living inside your love)That's fair enough. Barry White didn't mean a great deal to me until I worked night shift in a local factory, when he was played quite a lot as the local station's 'sexy, night-time music.' Well, it may have been those things and more if you were at home on the sofa or in bed, but on night shift? But having your sleeping habits turned topsey-turvey certainly gave his music a more receptive edge and the emotions became much sharper, and the 'You See The Trouble With Me' track, which has a quirky and unusual kind of guitar backing really started to appeal. This is Streisand's masterpiece. No question. Written and produced by Barry Gibb this is a record full of beautifully crafted and arranged love songs and ballads. Babs penchant for big show tunes is kept in check and her pop vocal performances throughout are exceptional. Woman In Love was a UK number 1 but is in no way the strongest track here. Guilty, The Love Inside and My Life Story are gorgeous songs that sound as great today as they did nearly 30 years ago ! It's all about the voice and on Guilty she reached her zenith. The rest of the 80's and 90's would see Streisand record endless covers versions & show songs, perform the odd concert, take a few minor film roles and generally coast quietly into old age. I am not one to use the word 'MASTERPIECE' freely. This is because these days, i feel most people overuse the word 'masterpiece' and i find this to be rather irritating. You know what i mean? Too many albums, films, etc are refered to as masterpieces when they are just ok or good. This album, however is NOT ok or good. It IS a masterpiece. Firstly, let me say, i am a rock fan. I was brought up on Heavy metal and punk. I'd lived in complete ignorence of Stevie Wonder until a friend recommended this album to me. At first, as you can probably guess, i was hesitant. Let's forget for a moment that diana ross has had about 1,000,000 greatest hits collections if you don't have all her other hits collections you should buy this one for sure if you are a diana ross fan you need this two amazing discs life all her upbeat pop hits love all her classic ballads my favorite tracks on this amazing two disc album are upside down not over you yet endless love untill we meet again gonig back the new track on the album overall it has to be a 10/10 must buy if you liked this album you should get Diana I Love You: +DVD Every Day Is a New Day or try Let the Music Play: Supreme Rarities 1960-1969.

Sade along with Anita baker, queen of adult contemporary, jazz & R&B delivers this beautiful, romantic album which is absolutely flawless from start to finish, providing the ultimate smooth grooves & chill out classics, all the songs are a joy to listen to time and time again. talking book this is a classic soul album i love it and play it quite regually its cool it features two known songs you are the sunshine of my life,superstition and lots of other good songs which aint recoginised so much radios have a habit of playing 2 or 3 songs by one artist all radio stations are guilty of it eg queen bohemian rhapsody,youre my best friend,dont stop me now and sometimes we will rock you but theres plenty of other fab songs by queen eg innuendo,these are the days of our lives,somebody to love and more i like a winters tale too off the made in heaven album fab!! but they do this with any artist play certain songs thats why i get bored by radio stations rather go and put my own cds on!! if i listen too radio its radio2 mark radcliffe and stuart maconie and ... I was still quite young when the disco craze hit the world, certainly way too young to enjoy what was going on in nightclubs, not too young to enjoy the music though! My favourites at the time were undoubtedly this band. I recall dancing to all the hits at school disco's and once at a very magical evening trip to a local ice rink disco, with the youth club. But as well as stirring memories of the the late 70's and early 80's revisiting these tracks creates thoughts of just how stylisticly variable, vocally accomplished and downright excellent this band was! They deserved a lot more credit way back when and they do know. Unlike the other reviewers I AM old enough to remember Barry White the first time around though I too enjoyed Ally McBeal. BW first got into music as a musician & later as a talent spotter for record companies & then moving into the production side. His first big hit was Love Unlimited's "Walking In The Rain" which featured BW speaking on the telephone to his girl friend. Right from this early track (which charted in both the UK & the USA in the early 70s) the BW 'sound' could be heard: romantic strings, slushy vocals over a strong rhythm. This album doesn't stray from the sound at all, all the tracks feature the same kind of voice (bar the 2 instrumentals), similar sounding songs & very similar arrangements. Read More:

This should be an essential addition to anyone's gothic rock collection. While not as "hardcore" as some of Nightwish's songs, I think this album is more accessible to a wider range of people and a great introduction for anyone new to Within Temptation's music (I got this album after buying their latest album, The Heart Of Everything). Every song is distinctive and none are forgettable; their tunes stay in your head and endlessly repeat themselves and make you want to constantly listen to them. The singer is skillful and in perfect control of her own voice; the music is - for want of a better phrase - plain awesome!
