Martha Reeves And The Vandellas were rather over-shadowed by Diana Ross And The Supremes. It really isn't possible to compare Reeves voice with Ross as both had unique and individual qualities of their own. But it's not unfair to say that Martha Reeves could have had the same extravagently successful career as Diana Ross, had she ever really been given the chance. Martha and the Vandellas were actually pumping out hits before Diana Ross and the Supremes had began their long series of million-selling chart toppers and top 10 smash hits. Essential. If like me you prefer your JB in the producers chair, you'll love this. JB gets those lady's singing like angels and unlike the monster hits, there's stuff here you woun't tire of for a long long time. Funky People volume 2 is definatly my favorite so far, & I'm looking forward to number 4.

when i listen to the music on my mp3 i have to stop myself from pretending to be diana ross when waiting for the train home it makes me feel young again definately a must for all of you tamala motown fans if your nearing 50 you,ll feel like 20!!!!!

This is a colllection of all Boyz II mens greatest hits and every track is an absolute classic.For years I listened to rock music and used to laugh at this type of pop,but Boyz II men have shown me how great pop music is when done the right way. Stand out tracks include everyones favourites 'End of the road','I'll make love to you','On bended knee' and my personal favourite 'water runs dry'.Having said this there is not a bad song on the album.Tracks like 'in the still of the night'show Boyz II men at their most harmonic,while 'motownphilly'adds edge to an already superlative album. I have listened to alot of Babyface's albums, but out of all of them this is my favorite. It is sensous and it is simply romantic. It can give a man alot of lyrics for his girl, it can even be for a mother. 'For the Cool in You' is a really great song that has so much touching words, that makes a man feel he was lucky to have his woman or partner. It has songs that range from, the blues, to making you want to dance all night,...so much more. It is definately worth the buy!

I LOVE the Tempts and I was given this c.d. as a gift. I would recommend it to people who would like an introduction to the groups music as it has some of their most famous hits like 'My Girl', 'Get Ready', 'Papa Was A Rolling Stone' and 'Just My Imagination' which is all good but the problem I have with this c.d. is that certain songs are included which quite frankly shouldn't be there as they weren't big hits for the Tempts. For example 'Treat Her Like A Lady' and 'Superstar' which aren't really needed and ruin the tone of the c.d. Even worse are the tracks 'The Jones' and a new version of 'Get Ready' which is a horrible nineties dance version of the classic which should have been left off the c.d. to be honest. This album arrived after "Payback" had shown that JB had lost none of his powers, despite the death of his son, troubles with the IRS and a commercial slump that had started when he lost much of his US crossover audience in the wake of "Say it Loud...". Hell is a less cohesive album then Payback, (perhaps because the latter was conceived as a soundtrack) containing as it does covers, re-recordings and re-interpretations, as well as new tracks. Because of this, we do see sides of JB that had not been glimpsed for a while (ever?) - the latin version of "Please Please Please" and the similarly flavoured "Stormy Monday", the laid back groove on "These Foolish Things" and "A Man Has To Go Back..." as well as the Funk we know and love.
