In my opinon this is Aretha at her very best. Sincerity, soul & her unique & brilliant vocal delivery just ooze from this album.Each track arouses a different emotion - Save Me gives me goose bumps!If you are considering buying this album JUST DO IT, you won't be disappointed.

IMHO a great album...but not as good overall as the self titled first. Lionel Richie To ensure continued enjoyment, NEVER expose yourself to the videos! Worth having just for Steve Lukather's epic solo on 'Running with the Night' -apparently there are Heavy Rock fans who listen to this track.

I have to say that i am a big diana fan and have collected the majority of her solo albums either on vinyl or those remaster for cd release, and have been to several concerts however this album is one of the treasures of her collect with a few covers and i must say i do prefer her rendition to Imagine rather than Patti Labelles (live aid) or even dare i say it John Lennons! Excellent album but i do prefer her To Love Again (1981) album (return to motown since early 70's).

The journalist Craig Seymour (in his bio on Luther) didn't rate this album, so I bought it with some trepidation. Well, I don't think Craig coud have been more wrong. Some of Luther's vocals on these tracks are amongst his BEST ever performances. As ever, he sounds incredible, but with a Gospel intensity on the ballads; at times he's truly singing the chandelier right off the ceiling !! It must have been electrifying in the studio. And his jazz-funk take on My Favourite Things is worth the price of admission alone... All the usual crew are there (Cissy, Cindy, Brenda, Lisa, Kevin, Marcus, Nat et al). It's an excellent Christmas album that's loaded with soul plus some funny moments; listen out for the comic exchange ... Read More:

I know that some people don't like 'greatest hits' albums for one reason or another. However this particular one is superb, it's a must have. All his best hits cramed onto two discs accompanied with some bonus live tracks and previously unrealeased recordings. For example 'Where are we Going' is execllent and speaks on so many different levels. 'The Very Best of Marvin Gaye' is perfect for any newcomers to his music, aswell as those who just wish to add to their Marvin Gaye collection.

Whitney is fantastic on this album, this album also boasted some of her most famous hits to date, and got us all rushing down to the cinema to see `The Bodyguard' her vocals are top spec, who could ever forget one of most famous songs of her career, a mind-blowing rendition of 'I Will Always Love You', on this track every note is sung to perfection, then there's `I Have Nothing' which is also an extremely good ballad, `Queen Of The Night' Whitney herself co-wrote this song, it's upbeat and very good to sing along to, `Run To You' again another ballad with every note sung to perfection using some of the world's most famous pipes, same can be said for the second, and last upbeat song on Whitney's take on the album, `I'm Every Woman' I actually do prefer Whitney's version of the ... Truly in-credible album. bad song? no you won't find a trace of one on here, Anita's voice remains strong, deep and soulful throughout the album, this is old school R&B exactly the way it should be, soft and smooth with a bit of jazz thrown in, oh those saxophones. What more can i say? one of the few albums that i can comfortably listen to all the way through, a true R&B fan who doesn't own this timeless masterpiece really doesn't know what their missing, pure bliss from start to finish.

This one released in autumn 1967, catalogues the patchy but growing popularity of the Motown sound in Britain in 1966/7.
