This is a fantastic collection of songs, and perhaps the best of all the albums which sprang from CSN. It has Crosby's strongest selection of songs, including the amazing Games and the haunting and moving Where will I be? This and Wind on the water represent Crosby and Nash's creative peak, with or without S and Y.

I was bought this as a Christmas present by a relative who knows I like country music .... but a relative who didn't appreciate how much country music I have in my collection! Out of the 101 tracks on this 4CD set, I probably already have about 50 on other CDs! But gathered together like this, it makes a superb varied mix collection for the car! For someone first dipping a toe into the exciting world of country music, this collection is hard to beat - it's got loads of classics fromthe likes of Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Glen Campbell, George Jones, and Kenny Rogers, interspersed with some newer artists like Steve Holy and Rodney Atkins. A very listenable and relaxing album, one that has grown on me over time. The songs fit together very well, in particular I like 'New Kid In Town' and 'Pretty Maids All In A Row'. All of the songs are meaningful, and I'm still getting more from this album each time I listen to it.

Having already bought both Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes this year and been slightly disappointed I purchased this CD with a little trepidation. The music papers have hyped both the former to a level where they should become instant classics...but the Felice Brothers seemed to slip under the radar getting goo reviews but no more. But hey! since first sticking the CD in the car stereo I haven't been able to take it out. OK on first listen I did think there was a Dylan fixation...but now I don't even detect it...it is the sound of the Felice Bros.. 'Helen Fry' is a great track and does sound very much like an early Green on Red track with loads of organ in the background and 'Scarecrow' is a dark tale that you really need to listen to. The mix of music is perfect.Lulu was great and loved Valantine moon. Gave as christmas presents all round.

Alison Krauss has one of the beautiful voices in modern music. But this album shows Union Station to be so much more than her stunning vocals. The stand out feature of this album is the musicianship of all members of the band. The addition of jerry douglas dobro has added a new layer to their compositions. This album is simply a must.

I've had this album since it was first released. I would say that it has got to be one of the dozen or so essential albums in any popular music lovers collection, and in this expanded version is a must buy. My fellow reviewers have given you the details, I just advise you to do yourselves a big favour & add this to your collection, I promise you won't be disappointed.

This is the first of the so-called American recordings, and arguably the best. The songs have been carefully selected by Cash, and I believe there is certainly something here for everyone. If you love music you will soon fall in love with this album. Most artists today don't have one percent of the emotional intensity that Cash had. I highly recommend this album without reservation.

21 Number Ones I wanted a CD of Kenny's best hits, and this one fitted the bill - almost. The only track it doesn't have is probably his most famous of all - Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town. The other tracks are a delight, especially the duets, and reminds us why we love the husky voice and storyline lyrics of this great man. A great CD to listen to when you're in a quiet mellow mood, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine - or two!

I came to the Felice Brothers blind, but Oh! what a discovery. It could be tempting to pigeonhole them, focusing on the Dylanesque quality of the vocals, but this would be a mistake. The vocals are of a burr that seems to combine Guy Clarke and Levon Helm with a shot of Jack Daniels!! Now saying they sound like Dylan would not have conveyed that AND missed much more. The harmonies are almost theatrical in their feel, but the theatre in this instince is the Catskills not Carnegie Hall. There is for me a feel of ribald earthiness, where the excellent lyrics and music combine to produce a soundtrack to a way of life, or a feeling for life. The opening Roll On Arte is haunting and just sets the scene, there is a languid yet sharp edge to it, which is equalled by Ballad of Lou, ... Read More:
