I bought this for Camisa Negra which I love and hoped that more tracks would be in the same style. Unfortunately not so. But it is an interesting mix of very different styles, sure to please a varied audience. I must say other than the above song the best pieces were the bonus tracks from the Un Dia Normal album. The sound on it was much more pleasant. I did not like the symphony like accompanyment on Mi Sangre. Too much orchestra, prefer hearing guitar and vocals and percussion.

In this long awaited second album from the daugther of the "diva" Ellis Regina all the tracks are worth listening to again and again. After the huge sucess of her first album the young woman that keeps saying that her long departed mother is irreplaceble joins with several of the most famous brazilian composers - including her elder brother Marcelo - to bring us an unforgettable experience: her voice echoes the tone of that of her mother's but is unique and carachteristic; the choice of songs is wonderful, joining brazilian rythms with other latin influences (Buena Vista Social Club seems to continue to influence Maria Rita) and blues and jazz nuances.

For those who understand Portuguese the lyrics are superb and an wonderfull theme ... Read More:

I'm amazed that this CD has only had one review, as this is a great compilation. To me this vol 3 along with vol 7 is the best of the cafe del mar series. Easy listening and a harmonious mix with some piano music a la cafe style, some light techno, a few dance tracks, some ambient and some jazzy tunes. Uplifting and worth listening to.

When I first heard Tribalistsas' cut "Carnavalia" on the radio, I wanted to hear more. So I bought the CD and now listen to it frequently. Another favorite is the catchy "Passe Em Casa," from guest artist Margareth Menezes. This CD does supposedly represent the best of Brazilian pop, and features three of Brazil's hottest stars: Arnaldo Antunes' vocals, Marisa Monte's guitar, and Carlinhos Brown on the piano, bass, and vocals. The trio does create an unbelievable rich, gentle, and subtle melange of vocals and instrumentation; the percussion is wonderful.

Tribalistas combined efforts bring the terrific contemporary music of Brazil to life. This is mellow sound that encourages you to chill-out, and dream. I recommend it. ENJOY!! Aprecíe!

If (like me) you're a fan of Ottmar Liebert, Paco Pena, and other "neo flamenco" artists who play with great passion and also great melody, this disc will probably dissapoint you. It's somewhat traditional but too jazz-like, with aimless tunes, bland arrangements, and no groove.

well well the boys are still going and the rock and metal stylings of the last few albums have been abandonned in exchange for ska and reggae. and it works although it takes a few listens to sink in. thatsaid though this the first cypress album in a long time that has got some terrible songs on it stuff like the ganja bus is just terrible i mean it makes you wanna cringe but then again theres songs like whats your number? and once again and another boddy drops where the beats flow so smoothly you find yourself tapping your foot and you dont even realise. overall not bad but they need another top album soon.
