I discovered this album a little late, about a year ago but it has affected me in a way that few albums ever have. On my first few listens I thought there were some killer tracks and the album as a whole was good but the more I have listened to it, every track has grown on me. One reviewer described this as the 'perfect chill out album' and I couldn't agree less, every part of this album from the infectious beats to the soulful singing and the powerful rap wakes up every part of me and makes me grin from ear to ear. I don't speak Spanish, so I don't understand what they are singing about, but when the music is this good, who cares! I thoroughly enjoyed this album and still do! It's R&B/Hip-Hop infused with latin infuences which is a perfect mixture as it works so well with this record. Ive had it on non-stop repeat ever since i bought it. It's a shame it never sold as well as it should have in the US but that wasn't Kat's fault but due to her record company's lack of promotion for her.

For starters, Amaral are, Eva Amaral and Juan Aguirre, a seemingly unstoppable songwriting duo that never cease to produce simply stunning top calibre Spanish pop rock. Much as i would like to heap praise upon the Eva Amaral, the bewitching songstress that fronts the band Amaral, the CD credits would have us believe that both of them are responsible for songwriting. So hats off to the woolly hatted guitarist too. I'm Brazilian and I had never heard about Suba until yesterday when I watched a program from BBC4 that showed Brazilian music through the 80's and 90's and I downloaded the album and just loved it! The way he mixed the Brazilian rhythms with foreings ones is just great! I recommend to everybody.

Gotan's first collection "La Revancha del Tango" was an irresistibly gut-grabbing, loin-twitching, bass-loping, dub-tango hybrid winner from the first listen, invariably prompting responses of "What it THIS? I LOVE it". "Lunático" is a much less in-your-face proposition. I could barely wait to get it out of its packaging, but then I struggled to get into the music itself. Mostly less meaty than "La Revancha" and more varied - tricksier, even. It took some chance random plays on the iPod to insinuate a couple of the songs into my ears again. Then I wanted more. Badly.
