I'm amazed that this CD has only had one review, as this is a great compilation. To me this vol 3 along with vol 7 is the best of the cafe del mar series. Easy listening and a harmonious mix with some piano music a la cafe style, some light techno, a few dance tracks, some ambient and some jazzy tunes. Uplifting and worth listening to.

I didn't like this cd the first time I heard it and this was because,like many of Gloria Estefan's albums,there was a big variety of original singing styles and sounds to get used to. And this is of course why It Cuts Both Ways is a success - as with her other albums,it is very,very difficult to get bored with what you are listening to. My favourite track:Don't Wanna Lose you.I'm sure that this cd will win over most people who purchase it.

After contributing to the soundtracks of the two previous Alex Cox films `Sid and Nancy' and `Straight to Hell' (in which he also had a part) Joe Strummer was to not only take a small part in the film `Walker' but also contributed the whole of the score. Recruiting Zander Schloss from the Straight to Hell sessions Strummer built a great acoustic band saying `I thought let's be 1850, nothing plugged in' which are a testament to the talent of a man who was one of Punks' first electric troubadours. The Album opens strongly and closes strongly with two mixes of `Filmbustero' a fantastic slice of Salsa that no one would have predicted Strummer would have created. Big Puns debut album capital punishment is probably one of the best hip hop albums ever and most certaintly one of the most underrated albums ever! this album has no weak songs with all the songs packed out with brilliant lyrics and good beats. it is also has great guest appearances from artists such as black thought, prodigy, inspectah deck, busta rhymes, noreaga and wycleaf aswel as the terror squad. not to commercial but not to underground capital punishment has just the right blend that proved puns claim 'latin goin plaitinum was destined to happen' people often forget about big pun and to an extent big l but if these rappers had released further LPs they would most certaintly be challenging pac and biggie for the best rappers ...
