If like me you used to dismiss music that was not sung in English, then buy this now and change your view on the music out there in the wide world. I got into Manu Chao by chance when I spoke to a very knowing person who advised me to try him out. Not many people have heard of Manu Chao presumably because he is just not written about in the British music press. The music itself as described by others is a mix of world music, sung in several languages including English. The songs just bring joy and addiction. Gotan's first collection "La Revancha del Tango" was an irresistibly gut-grabbing, loin-twitching, bass-loping, dub-tango hybrid winner from the first listen, invariably prompting responses of "What it THIS? I LOVE it". "Lunático" is a much less in-your-face proposition. I could barely wait to get it out of its packaging, but then I struggled to get into the music itself. I bet you have forgotten how many great songs Gloria Estefan has had! This CD is a fantastic collection of her biggest hits (yes, it does exclude songs like 'Here We Are' & 'Cuts Both Ways', which are beautiful songs) however, it DOES include 20 classic tracks from her 80's days of Dr Beat, Conga, Don't Wanna Lose You Now, Can't Stay Away From You, Rhythm Is Gonna Get You, etc to her 90's tracks Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Everlasting Love, Heaven's What I Feel & Reach plus her song 'Wrapped' from her highly underrated 2003 beautiful CD ''Unwrapped'' (check it out!). This is a amazing album. It has a lot of genres that include :slow music, latin, pop and rock. This really is a great album. Her voice is amazing and the moves are sexy and cool.Her voice is not deemed as the most flowing swan on the lake, it stands as one female in a world dominated by males, singing how she wants to sing, and not caring on peoples veiws on her! Although this album contians bad language and rude parts it is a amazing album and if you want 2 party then choose this album. In the last track she sings in spainish 95% of the time. Hips don't lie is my favourite song of 2006. Buy this when music in the 'popular' culture isn't up to your standards, and I swear you won't be dissapointed! as the old saying goes{i may not know art but i know what i like}. i may not be an expert on spanish classical guitar music but this cd is excellent. track 5 disc 1 is 10 minutes of heaven.you may recognise it as the music from the film el cid.there are 1 or 2 tracks that dont quite hit the mark but mostly this is a fantastic compilation album and will satisfy most peoples needs. just relax with a bottle of rioja,turn off your phone and dont answer the door bell. you will be transported back to that little secret tapas bar that only you and your loved one know about. the sevilla feria 05 is where it takes us.

Like everyone I know, I first heard Julio when on holiday and his voice, even many years later, brings a warm feeling whenever I play his CD and I confess that I play it more than any other single CD I own. Yes, some tracks work better for me than others but this is not just a greatest hits but an ultimate hits copllection. His voice envelopes everything, bringing smooth flowing sound that is pleasing even if you are not listening but rewarding if you are. This collection lifts him to the position of the number one European singer of romantic love songs. I don't have his other CDs - there is no point this is the collection to have. H

I bought this album completely blind, not knowing anything about it or Paolo Conte. I would never have believed how much I would end up liking this album. It is quite querky and has a very unusual style, a bit of everything really. You can really appreciate the skill of the musicians on this and often the arrangements involve a huge number of instruments at once which works tremendously well. Paolo's vocals are spot on. There are some real 'gems' on here - little snippets of music that are sheer genius. The music has quite a free style and I like the fact that you get the odd note that has slightly off timing as you can sense the players are enjoying it immensely. One of these that you have to just give it a try.

This is a fine selection of melodic uplifting music. Such good song writing and production and compelling listening. So get it is my recommendation. And get all his other English albums - I have! And I have found them to be equally as good. Cheers.

This is full of really good catchy songs. If you liked the hits Hero, or Escape buy the album, then you will want to buy "7" and "Insomniac" and "Enrique"! I did and they're all very good. This is melodic, emotive writing singing and production. So many good songs, which Enrique co-writes. His voice seems to carry a lot of emotion and feeling. I must say I'm hooked on it, some years after I first heard "Hero" I'll say. Better late than...! Buy it and enjoy. Cheers.
