I was a bit disappointed that every song sounded exactly the same and for a two disc CD this was ever so slightly annoying. It would have been nice to have some varity on the tempo of the songs. Its not all bad though, some good tunes you can shake your ass to.

Sorry for slipping into the vernacular: Hobson's Choice = voice. Listening to this album is an incredible experience. I do not know any Portuguese, I have know idea what the lady is singing (although I can guess what she's singing about) but I am moved almost to tears by the emotion she brings to these songs, as if the words are being torn from her heart. The quality and range of Amalia's voice are superb. The only comparison I can make is the poor one of a Portuguese Kathleen Ferrier, a poor comparison because Amalia is far less constrained by the conventions of classical singing. This was the first album by Marc Anthony that I ever heard, having been recommended it by a friend. For those couples out there who like to have "our song" then this is the album for you. It has it all.....falling in love, falling out of love, being in love, wanting love, turning your back on love.....the lyrics and the music are very, very special. I play this album as often as I can and never tire of the songs. My favourite: You sang to me. This is not just an album for salsa lovers, it is an album for lovers the world over.
